Hi,thank for your questions. When you close the door,it locks automatically in 4 seconds. but in the visitor mode,it will not auto locks.

Q: I bought 2 of this unit can these be rekeyed to have one key for both locks?

Sorry, I think you can't rekey it, need a locksmith to rekey it, this is not a SMART KEY. thanks
