These take flat batteries how many and what size?

Three AAA batteries, pay attention to the orientation in the "pack" and the orientation of it's poles in relation to the flashlight.

Can these be used to illuminate day glo star stickers ???

I think they would illuminate the stats beautifully. I know that I have glow in the dark items and it works great. And these flashlights are sturdy and are a great price. If they didn't work you could always send them back but I think they would work perfectly with the day glo stars.
