Who Do You Think We Are?

This is an amazing box set history of Caravan. I didn't have all of the albums so this made it easy. People balk about the price in reviews, but IMHO it is a deal for what you get! My only complaint is it would've been nice for the band to include advance copies of the newest album in the box so it truly would be complete...instead of having to buy it separately. Otherwise, impressive!

The music is great - a thoroughly comprehensive set of Caravan's best work. The problem I have is with the book. When I first opened it the spine completely detached from the pages. The damage is too severe to repair easily. I'll be interested to see if my book was the only one with this problem.

I've been a fan of Caravan for decades. I have an autographed copy of their first US album, which Richard hadn't seen before and Pye showed him. What a delight. Thanks and I'm looking forward to the upcoming new album.

This is what a box set looks like, everything you could ever want is inside this beautiful black box. Superb sound, fantastic ephemeral goodies, a solid chapter in Caravans odyssey!

What a beautiful box set! I’ve been a Caravan fan since I first heard ‘In the Land of Grey and Pink’ and ‘For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night’ when I was at school. I’ve collected all of the classic albums and remastered CDs up to Blind Dog, plus a number of others, so I wasn’t sure if I could justify buying this set, nor if I really needed it. In a moment of weakness I went for it and I’m so pleased I did. Although I had seen Caravan when Doug Boyle was with the band, I didn’t have any of the albums, but he adds so much to the overall sound with some fairly outside lines. It’s worth getting to have the albums with his contribution, but then there’s also all the live material. The live recordings are of variable quality, but essential listening for a true fan.I’ve compared each of the albums with the remastered originals released around 2001-2002. Although it seems they’re the same releases (same date), they don’t sound the same. Sometimes the versions from this box set sound better, but on some albums the single albums are better.I don’t use a CD player, but instead rip the discs to a server and stream from there. I found one track, the last from the Unauthorised Breakfast Item studio album, wouldn’t rip.It’s disappointing that the track entitled Frozen Rose is only available on the BluRay disc of In the Land of Grey and Pink and not on any of the CDs, since it’s as good as any of the others on that album.Despite these minor niggles, I’d strongly recommend this set to any Caravan fan.

美を追求したアルバムを全部集めた珠玉のＢＯＸセットです。『グレイとピンクの地』と『夜ごとに太る女のために』だけ持っていれば十分かな、と思っていたのですが、大間違いでした。スタジオアルバム16作の全てが美を追求したような名盤に仕上がっており、素晴らしいの一言です。どの時期も良く、常に全盛期と言えるかもしれません。また、オフィシャル・ライヴアルバム4作は勿論のこと、未発表のライヴ音源が11枚も素晴らしく、ライヴ・バンドなんだと、あらためて思い知らされました。DVDには、1971年から1981年までのヨーロッパのテレビ番組でのパフォーマンスが収録されていした。更にハードカバーブックには、キャラヴァンの貴重な写真や記念品、全ディスコグラフィーが掲載されていて、あとはファンクラブ・ブックとサイン入り写真、カンタベリーの地図、キャラヴァンのファミリー・ツリー・ポスター、1970年代のライヴ・ポスター（レプリカ）2枚も入っていました。カンタベリー系ファンのみならず、広くロック。ファンに聴いて欲しいＢＯＸセットです。お値段だけの価値はあると思いました。毎日聴いています。
