It got me out of my reading slump - fantastic!
I’ve been buying books for years, but failing to get beyond the first couple of pages. Perhaps I’ve fallen victim to my reduced attention span? Perhaps it’s because I keep buying dry sci-fi books that sound fascinating?Whatever the case, this book popped up on my radar after clicking on the “LGBTQ+ tag” and seeing it. I’m not the typical audience for this book - a mostly straight, white guy from England - but it grabbed me as soon as I started reading it. And I do mean that with no exaggeration. When I wasn’t reading this book, I was thinking of it and eagerly waiting until I was again. I did pace myself a little, but finished it in about a week. This book never strayed far from my thoughts. A week isn’t an especially quick time to read a book; but considering my recent failings, I’ll happily take it.I found it intoxicatingly lovely, sweet, charming, and beautiful. Yes, it can be a little clichéd at times - *cough* psychics *cough* - but the characters are great. They’re well written and I found myself wanting to meet them. The found family dynamic was great as well. I also think this would make a great movie, though I’m already preemptively worried they’ll butcher it.In summary, I truly do love this book, and I’d like to thank Mrs McQuiston for getting me interested in actually reading again.

LOVED IT
I didn‘t expect this book to be the way it was at all (probably because I didn‘t read the blurb oops). The thing that attracted me to this book was its colourful, pretty front cover! This book follows the MC August as she moves from city to city to find the ‘perfect‘ place for her. When she is on her way to university one morning, she meets Jane who has been displaced into the present from 1977. It follows August‘s journey in helping Jane figure out who she really is and how to get her back to where she‘s from but love finds its way in and that is where romance falls into play. August and Jane have a rough ride together throughout this book but seeing their friendship/relationship develop overtime is something that I have enjoyed reading. The character growth in this book is amazing and the inclusivity is outstanding.I love how this book allows the reader to figure out who Jane is along the way like August and how August‘s flat mates help her through everything. There is a strong sense of great friendships and the importance of having a good friend in your life.I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who is interested or anyone who has it on their TBR!Trigger Warnings - homophobia, police violence, AIDS crisis, racism, childhood neglect and arson

Breathtaking!
My heart aches for this book. That's the simplest way to describe it. Sometimes you read a book that is so important, so heartfelt and pure, that it just touches your soul and makes you ache inside. It is the most incredible feeling and I don't think I can properly put into words how grateful I am to Casey McQuiston for giving this to the world.Red, White & Royal Blue is my favourite book. I have read it once a month since I first downloaded it onto my kindle. It's my feel-good book. And I was truly content. And then I found out Casey was writing another book and I thought, how would she ever be able to write something as touching as her debut? I know now. Because it comes from the heart. One Last Stop is a story of found-family and soul searching and finding your place in the world. It is about acceptance and honesty and staying true to yourself. It's about redemption and love and laughter and heartbreak and all the things that make life so wonderful and complicated. If you ever, ever want to feel seen and heard in life, read this book. You won't be disappointed.

Casey smashed it as always!
This book was just... wowI love Casey's work and writing style so I had really high hopes for this book, and it didn't disappointI think I felt every possible emotion going through this book. There were moments of happiness, romance, growth, love, bitter sweetness, tension, comedy - it was all thereI loved August in this book. I saw so much of myself in her, and that made it really easy to relate to the book and the story. Finding the family you choose, a place to be accepted, and finding yourself are all big themes in this book and it's done incredibly well.Jane is an amazing love interest - I am officially a massive simp! I also through the side characters were written extremely well and diverseEverything about this book just worked. It was very well paced and had just the right amount of romance and spice, but also building the plot and the background storylines around that to make the wheel experience tie together nicelyThis was other hands down 5 star for me and is definitely a new favourite of mine!

Charming but flawed
Some editing would have been nice. This book has a wonderful premise and excellent characters. The writing style was en pointe. But there were at least 6 chapters after the halfway mark that should have been tighter. Great couple, beautiful writing, but get on with it please.

Mystery, sci-fi , and sapphic romance
This was a refreshing break from your typical sapphic novel. My thoughts are below in no particular order:I enjoyed the theme of solving one little mystery at a time while trying to resolve two much larger mysteries. I was constantly on the edge of my seat.August and Jane were fun and relatable characters and the author did a good job with developing the characters and their relationship.I found the language to be a bit cringe at times. I almost stopped reading after the first couple chapters because it seemed like the author was trying too hard to sound cool with some misplaced cultural references and language.Once I got past the first couple chapters, I was hooked more so by the mystery than by the romance. Then the romance stole the show. The romantic scenes were tastefully done. It wasn’t Outdrawn level detail but it wasn’t The Secret of You and Me kind of reservation either. It was smack dab in the middle.Overall, this was a really fun book with a good dose of mystery and sci fi - a lovely break from your typical sapphic romance novel. I highly recommend!

The media could not be loaded.

As good as promised
When I first read the synopsis of this story, I didn't really know what to expect. The whole stuck-in-time-thing confused me as much as it sounded intriguing, and it took me a while to pick this up and read it, after all.Now that I'm done, I totally understand how this book made all the top lists. First of all, the main idea of the plot is really great. Writing the majority of a romance novel just focused on a subway line and a surrounding mystery is a really cool challenge, and I love how it turned out and how creative the characters got about filling that place with life. Also, the main character's interactions were just so bloody sweet all the time. Whenever August stepped into a subway cart to see Jane, my heart just did a little happy dance :D And then there was all the great side characters, too! It's such a shame to say goodbye to them after this one story, already.I also greatly appreciated the story focusing on the (complex and fascinating) scifi/mystery plot for drama, keeping the conflict between our main characters relatively low and the feel-god vibe of the overall story untainted.Last but not least, I loved just how much beautiful representation the whole lgbtqia+ community got in this book. Thank you so much for this, Casey!
