Great value
I really love the feel of this bag's material and it packs extremely small and light. Just be careful when cinching down the compression sack because they straps can rip from the base. This happened to me, and Hyke and Byke sent me a new compression sack after sending them a few pictures of the malfunction. I have reinforced the stitching, and haven't had a problem since. If I could, I would probably rate this 4.5 stars because I did get a little cold when the temperature dropped to about 35 degrees F. I was wearing thin wool socks, long-johns and a long-sleeve microfiber shirt. I threw on my fleece and was perfectly comfortable and warm. My only other complaint is some zipper snagging, but that really isn't an issue. However, I can give a full 5-star rating because for the price, you get a really great sleeping bag that is perfect for light backpacking in colder climates. My camping mates were really impressed with how small the bag can compress. If you take proper care of it, it will serve you very well out in the field.Update: I slept in the mid- 20's in very windy conditions (tent kept much of the wind off). I wore two pairs of wool socks, long-johns, thin nylon pants, wool sweater, and two fleeces, and I was fine. If I didn't have all the layers, I would have been very cold, but the bag is only rated to 30 degrees. Point being: You can use this bag in a very cold climate if you are dressed properly.

Quality and Affordability
Out of the box I'm very impressed with this product. Lightweight, small, and packs down and back into its compression sack so easy compared to synthetic sleeping bags. No wrestling and cussing. We'll be field testing these bags this weekend, but they were comfortable and warm when we tried them at home. If I need it to be warmer, I'll buy a liner, but you can't beat the price for a down bag. My husband got a regular and I got a short to save space - I'm 5'4" and fit into the short comfortably with room to spare in the foot box. I've got wide hips and was comfortable, I didn't feel restrained like I have in my older (very cheap) mummy bag. I read many of the reviews before taking a chance on these - yes, they aren't incredibly fluffy, but for the temperature rating, they shouldn't be. Some reviews complained about the material feeling oily or like a garbage bag -- I find it to be soft and, yes, slick, but more in a silky way, not oily or off-putting. The light blue color is actually much more vibrant in person, less of a baby blue and more cornflower. I'm happy to support this brand because of their business model with Kiva. Unlike many of the Chinese import bags with weird brand names that Amazon sells for a relatively similar price point, this is an American company with a real website, which was part of the selling point for me and helped convince me to make this purchase. In the future I'll buy from their website directly as they offer a rewards program.

Decent Choice with options....
I purchased this bag for backpacking. I was attracted to the weight and price, as well as the temperature rating. The bag is a nice material and seems to be a good quality. I am new to backpacking, so I don't have a lot to compare it to yet, but here is what I know.....It is super light, compact and easy to carry with you. I was able to put it with my camp pillow in the sleeping bag compartment of my backpack (deuter 60L +10) and add some additional clothing. So, 5 stars for that one.It does need to be opened up when you get it and shaken out. I think this would have helped me on the first night. I tend to run cold as an individual, so if that is you, this might not be the bag for you. It is a good 3 season bag for someone who runs on the warm side. The first night it got down to around 48-50 degrees and I was not nearly warm enough. (I was sleeping in a sweatshirt and running tights, and did not really shake out the bag prior to using.) I was quite disappointed. I made some adjustments the second night, and was able to unpack the bag and shake it out and hang it for a few hours prior to sleeping. This did help create some loft and I think made it better. I also slept in running tights, a long sleeve shirt with a light running coat over that and a vest. I didn't seem to have a temperature issue this night, and it was around the same temp, so I think a combination of these things did help. I was also able to take a rinse in the creek to make sure I was not sweaty and dirty from the days hike. That makes a difference for me anywhere. I would give it a 3 star for a temperature rating if you run cold. It will keep you alive at 32, but you will not be comfortable. As far as size goes, I loved it. I am 5'6" and had plenty of length in this bag. It was snug, but I could still roll around and spin in it. The head had enough room for my pillow and was still able to close around me in the mummy style. I liked the additional cinching that was available around my neck and shoulders to keep the heat in. It wasn't constricting in any way, which worried me, since it was my first mummy bag. (I usually zip 2 square bags together) So, 5 stars for space.Overall, I think I am happy with this purchase. I think I will look for some warmer sleeping clothes or a liner for this bag, but that is just a personal issue. If you run cold, I would go another way, but if you are an average person, this is a good product for you.
