Excellent Product!
Excellent product! Delivered on time. Easy to install. We did add additional bungie cords because high winds were forecast. Easily carried our luggage, beach gear cart, chairs, beach umbrella, beach toys and boogie boards. Everything stayed dry after driving through high winds and heavy rain. We are very happy with this purchase.

it last very sturdy and useful on a 7
Drove through heavy rain the first night of the trip and everything in the bag was soaked.. Otherwise, it last very sturdy and useful on a 7,000 mile road trip with constant 75mph+ highway trips, granted we didn't see any other rain.

great design but not functional
We were going on a cross country trip from KY to CA (family of 8) and needed extra room for comfort in our Durango. We bought this so we could put most of our luggage on top of my car. The design is nice but the functionality is difficult. It's easy to get on top of the car compared to the hard top ones but filling it up to fill all the space was difficult. I only mention this because if you don't, it's really hard to tie it down correctly. We filled it with 6 large fabric suitcases, 2 blankets and some toys. There was still extra room. We added another blanket and 3 towels to fill in the space so we could tie it down (for the love of God, make sure you place the straps where they need to go BEFORE filling the bag lol) we still weren't able to fill the corners but gave up because now we're just bringing stuff we didn't need to fill in space. Tying it down was not as easy as we thought it would be. Be patient with this part, it will drive you crazier then a 3 year old crying mommy, mommy, mommy for 15 min. After we finally got it tied down (45 min later) we were on our way. Seemed fine until it rained. Yes, it did what it said and kept our stuff dry but when they straps got wet, they stretch enough from the weight to where we had to pull over, readjust everything, and retighten them. It's not a bad product and you may have better luck then we did but it's not for us

false claim, its not water proof
bag leaked, held water in not out. damaged cargo had about 30 oz of water that got in what was supposed to be leak proof isn't . don't sell it. but I do appreciate amazon standing behind what they sell on there web site. and yes it was closed up as directed. common sense

Not water resistant!
The one time we used this, it rained both directions on our trip. It says it's waterproof, but it leaked both times. On the way home we had to put our stuff in plastic bags to keep it dry. I didn't get the chance to return it, but will now only use it when there is no rain in the forecast.

Can't wait to go on a trip now
Now that we have sold the minivan and bough a suv, we just don't have as much storage room as we did before. So I decided to look into a car top carrier. This one is a great price and looked pretty good online. When I received it, I was very impressed. It seems a lot bigger than I expected it to be. We will be able to fit a good amount of luggage in here. I like that it will also be very easy to store. It seems like very good quality fabric and seems well made. We have not taken it on a trip yet, but can't wait to use it. I will update after our next trip.

good for weekend trips
I think it is good for short trips, but I don't know about long trips across the country. I haven't been able to use it, because the roof protector is very thin, and I don't trust it. I think this cargo roof bag is good for weekend trips. I would prefer a hard case for cross-country.

Suitable for dry weather load carries.
Sturdy product that withstood a 14 hour drive up the Eastcoast. It's definitely only water resistant because our bag got pretty wet from the rain through the roof cover. Hoping that the plastic buckles withstand some use because they feel very thin.
