Perfect Replacement for my 986
I recently purchased this replacement gas cap and strap for my Porsche 986 Boxster because the original strap had broken. This product solved the problem perfectly!The installation process was straightforward and easy. I found a brief, helpful YouTube video on The Eddys Garage channel that walked me through the steps, making the process even simpler. Within minutes, I had the new gas cap and strap installed, and it fits, functions, and looks just like the original. The only concern I have is that the manufacturing code on the replacement states 2018, which would be six years old at time of purchase (although it is newer than my 02 date code on the original).If you need a replacement gas cap and strap for your Porsche, I highly recommend this one. It’s a perfect fit, high-quality, easy to install, and fairly inexpensive. Very satisfied with my purchase!

Looks exacly like genuine oem. The tether is a little bit more hard plastic than genuine oem. Fit great, but after a few fill ups, it became hard to remove, would click when trying to remove, as if i was tightening it. ...kind of like an adult pill box. Luckily was able to get it off to fill up after some effort but it happened 3x in a row and i was done with it after that. Got a genuine "made in germany" one for the same price and so far so good 🤞🤞🤞
