Professional slicing right at home!
This food slicer is fantastic for slicing deli meats, cheeses, or fresh bread to the exact thickness you want. The blade cuts smoothly and efficiently, and the adjustable dial makes switching settings incredibly easy. Itโs heavy-duty but surprisingly easy to clean after use.

The best thing since -- sliced bread!
I thought I was falling out of love with my bread machine because I couldn't slice the loaves evenly with ANY of the knives/slicing guides I tried. It was impossible for me to hold the loaf firmly enough or the knife steadily enough, so I started buying my bread again. But then I bought this "meat" slicer and found out that's all I was missing. This great machine cuts bread to any thickness I want, is so easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store, and works so fast. I could never do by hand what this does in 5 minutes (trust me, I know). I don't eat meat, so it didn't occur to me how useful a meat slicer could be. This is a game-changer in the breadmaking world!

I can understand the frustration but it seems like so many are rating this product off of what ...
So I gave it 4 stars. First, for those reviewing this with 1-star ratings. I can understand the frustration but it seems like so many are rating this product off of what it can't do versus what it can. If you're looking for a deli-style slicer for paper thin cuts with almost no work to it, yes, this product is not for you. There's a reason commercial slivers cost so much. Ultra thin and well crafted blades with high rpms don't come cheap. For all the reviewers giving this 5 stars, this really is t as great as everyone makes it out to be. There are some serious design flaws and it takes some work and toying with to get the hang of this product. Pros: (1) will slide better than a knife and more consistent than a mandolin. (2) fairly easy to operate. Cleaning didn't seem too bad. You can't put this or any parts in the dishwasher, which is a drawback for home users, but cleaning it didn't make me feel like it was the end of the world. (3) it will cut near paper thing slices if you handle it the right way (4) slices bread in consistent sized slices. I like that this can act not only as a meat and cheese slicer, but also a bread slicer for my fresh baked loaves (5) does really save you money if you buy deli meats in bulk or cure your own deli meats. And the size is not too bad for a slicer. Fairly small and easily storable. It's also very light in weight. Cons: (1) major design flaws. The adjustment knob itself seems fine, but the backing where the object to cut slides it weak. It does move during slicing (2) I don't like the plastic handgaurd. It feels a bit flimsy (3) for something that is only 150w, I feel like inly being able to run it for 10 minutes is a bit frustrating, especially if you have a ton to slice. I understand the nature of the engineering behind it, but for a home - based kitchen appliance one would expect to be able to not have to let the thing "cool off" with such a low wattage rating. This tells me the engineering is not that well thought out. (4) the blade does operate at a low rpm. I suppose it's not the end of the world for a home product, but i feel like they could have designed this a bit better with a higher rpm Suggestions for use: (1) for anything that it cut, if you want consistent sized slices, I would put the object of slicing a little higher. I know this could become a safety issue, so just think while you slice, and keep in mind you have a blade nearby. I've been using about 1/2 in- 1in off the bottom. It definitely yields better and more consistent cuts. I also don't have anything get stuck in the blade. (2) for paper thin slices, you really need to set this almost near size 0. By following the first suggestion, it'll get you there. It won't be consistent, but at least you'll be close enough to be happy (3) don't press too hard on the hand guard. I feel like this is one issue that led me to inconsistent slicing. (4) don't go fast. Doing so will certainly ensure uneven and inconsistent slices. The instructions even direct you to operate slowly. But obviously don't slice, stop, slice, stop midway. You want one smooth slow pass. This will also get you there Overall, this is a home kitchen product which is why I did give it a 4 star rating. If this were sold to me as a commercial product, I certainly would be complaining. Heck, the box even specifies to only use this in a home kitchen. If you're looking to leave your deli and move to home cured or bulk deli meats, then this will get you there. But it does require some playing around with. Don't expect to open this, shove a hunk of meat on it and expect high quality slices. Just like any non-commercial kitchen product, there will be inconsistencies. But for under $70, I think the quality of the product matches with the price well. You just have to learn how to use it the right way for everything you use it for. I've found different speeds of my hand moving and heights really make a difference based on the type of food being sliced.. I know most of us want these things to be intuitive and easy to use, but what can you expect for a kitchen product for less than $100? It does what it needs to do when used in the correct way for each type of food. With all that said, certainly worth the investment so far. I'll give updates if anything changes.

Great value, does the job, easy to clean and store
I have wanted a (meat) slicer for quite a while. The weight, size and expenses is what deterred me. We are not heavy users - maybe once a week for a ham, chicken or turkey. Other small stuff occasionally. This is perfect. Compact, light and easy to use and clean (maybe 1 minute to clean it). If you want the razor thin deli meat, you'll have to spend up, this is not a fit for you. Probably gets to 2x deli thickness.

Will do its job if you baby it
I often look for an inexpensive version of a product when I first buy a new gadget. This was a starter slicer to see if we actually use it and if it saves us money by buying meat and cheese in bulk. Maybe I put too much faith in the brand, but this slicer didn't meet my expectations. Right away, we could tell that the slicer was too lightweight and would move around too much when slicing anything hard. Most of its components are plastic, including some of the internal parts, which ended up being its downfall. The motor is just not very strong, so while it seemed to work fine on meat, it bogged down badly when slicing cheese. I like to freeze meat slightly before slicing it, but this thing couldn't handle that. The thickness adjustment knob has no indicators on it, so we had to make some marks at different depths to get consistent results. It lasted about a year before the insides melted. We used it enough that I feel a new one is justified, but this time, I'll look for a professional version that will last.

Great product, highly recommend!
I have been looking for a meat slicer for quite a while and I am very happy to find this product. I like Cusinart based on my previous experience of using other products. So without any hesitation, I decided to order this product after I found it. Itโs with reasonable price and very easy to operate and clean. The noise level is normal and acceptable to me. From the materials itโs made of, I can see its great quality and feel itโs totally worth the value! I read the instructions carefully before the first use and follow the instructions all the time. In this way, I am pretty sure that I would have a safe use every time and maintain this slicer in good shape. For the first time use, I sliced lamb to make noodles in lamb soup for my family. I rolled up the lamb that I bought from Costco in the freezer he might before using plastic wrap and removed it from the lamb before I started the slicing work. At the beginning when the lamb was still a bit hard, itโs not that easy to operate and the plastic food guide guard didnโt hold the meat very tightly. After defrosting the lamb at room temperature about half an hour, the job became super easy. One important thing to point out is that the machine needs to take a break every 10 min to protect the motor. Overall, itโs a great experience for my first use and I would recommend this product. It wonโt disappoint you.

Works better than expected
I've been going to buy one of these slicers for years. I researched, watched videos and read reviews before finally clicking 'Purchase'. I've been using it for about an hour now and it's so much better than what I was expecting after reading so many other reviews. No, it's not that loud. No louder than my electric knife. I've sliced a medium steak into shaved steak. I'm sure I could get thinner if I chilled it a little. I sliced a boneless turkey breast that I roasted last night. Nice and thin like the deli. I also did some ham ends that I bought at the deli. I was able to get several more nice thin slices than the pro deli machine could do. I then did a pepper and onion very thin. Worked so well. You need to go easy and let the machine do the slicing. Don't push it against the fence or force it into the blade. It slices like a hot knife through butter. Honestly. It slides smoothly and evenly. I chose this one because it adjusts to about the thickness of an average slice of bread. I have no doubt that it would do a great job on bread. Probably not hot fresh bread out of the oven. Bread just does not slice fresh out of the oven. It's really easy to wipe down clean. The carriage piece slants away allowing you to clean pieces out of there. Great machine that I got for under $50 with my Prime credit card points. Very satisfied!

Not bad for the price, the thickness gauge flexes under pressure
It works as described, but it's a little fraught. There's no great place to hold it, and it tends to slide across my counter when you apply pressure to slice. Also, the slicing guard tends to flex with pressure, so you wind up with slices that are thicker at the top than at the bottom. Not bad for the price, but a little disappointing. Still, I buy top round from Costco and sous-vide it, then slice it up for roast beef. It is significantly less expensive than deli, and you can completely control what goes into your sandwich meat.
