I bought this for my husband and son-n-law along with a black powder gun kit. They spent the entire day working together carving, sanding, bluing and putting together the guns. I bought both the black and the blue product. Both kits work very well for bluing the barrels. They did have to apply about 3 coats to get a very smooth color. The guns turned out great.
