It seems to do a great joy on longer distances, problem is I could not see the point of light much over 100 feet. Needs a stronger light souce, other than that caculations seem to work great.

I don't plan to use the fancy functions with this, I just want to take measurements and record the results. It has the ability to store measurements, but I don't see the value in that without being able to also record a label or brief statement, preferably verbal.

I was blown away by how accurate this thing is. I hope you're up for a new hobby because this thing will have you walking around measuring distances between stuff just for the fun of it. Super easy to use and is a great value for what you get with it.

Took it out of the box. Put it back in the box. To return it.The unit is made with a hard plastic case. So light, you might think it came out of a crackerjack box.I'm not even going to TRY it.When you're working, it's inevitable that you're going to drop a tool sometimes. I'm highly doubtful that this could withstand a four-foot drop, never mind from a ladder.
