These are not heavy duty not good for a larger child

Absolute Garbage do not buy, spacer adapters don't fit huffy bikes correctly and the brackets the are supposed to hold the training wheels from moving are thin and flimsy, they bend and let the training wheels turn and make the kids wipe out. If I could give them zero stars I would!

These training wheels worked good for me. Lots of color choices. The purple match my granddaughter bike perfectly. The wheels come nicely boxed. You get all the hardware, plus a wrench & socket to attach. Our little bike has 16” tires and as you can see in the photos the bracket has multiple holes and it can be adjusted to a smaller or bigger tire. The wheel seems to have good rubber. I also like the stabilizer brackets (can be seen in the first photo). You get two kinds and I opted to go with the longer one. Seems like a good buy - happy so far.

So to make this fit and be stable, I had to bend some metal components, and then add extra washers. If you need to use the extensions, it becomes a bit of a problem. Basically you screw on the extension in place of the nuts holding the tire, and tighten them down. So far so good. Then you are supposed to attach the wheel assembly to the end of that, with an extension rod that goes back to the bicycle, so that it can stay in place. The extension rod doesn’t go all the way back, so you have to bend it. It doesn’t necessarily fit properly on the bike so you have to bend it again. Then you need to tighten everything down. The nut from the bicycle earlier is supposed to tighten down on the end of the extension rod. But it isn’t deep enough, so it can’t properly clamp everything together. I used a few washers to make up the difference, and was able to tighten everything down well. In the end it seems like an ok solution. But it is definitely not for everyone, and requires extra parts not provided.

The lights aren't likely to work for new riders as you need a bit of speed to get them to light. The biggest disappointment for me is the axel extenders. This are NOT the same threading as a the threads on a child's bike... Be mindful of what you need. I believe these are 3/8" x 26tpi (threads per inch) and unfortunately, my axel is 3/8" x 24tpi. Parents/installers... DO NOT FORCE THESE ONTO THE AXEL OR THE NUTS ONTO THEM. You will cross thread something and jeopardize the integrity of one of the parts that could cause it to fail, hurting a child. If you do not need the axel extenders or have the appropriate threading, you may be fine with these as they are budget friendly. Unfortunately, they won't work for me. On the plus side, the arms appear to be decent gauge metal but the wheels are just ok.
