Garlic Biltong. High in Protein. Healthy Snack Made from British & Irish Beef by The Original Biltong Company (10 x 30g, Garlic)

I'm a regular buyer of biltong, and thought I'd give 'The Original Biltong Company's' biltong a try. So happy I did! I have now tried all 4 flavours from them - Original, Piri Piri, Garlic and Smoky BBQ, and this is by far the best. Definitely buying again. The biltong itself comes as very long, thin uniform strips, as if they marinade and cure their biltong as slender cuts of beef. Personally I find this has made it some of the nicest textured biltong I've eaten in a long time, and it's not too dry, and not too wet. Just perfect. As for the flavour, I think their Smoky BBQ is by far the best... not too overpowering but you can tell it's there, and it's so tasty. Highly recommended. 5 out of 5. Regarding the other biltong flavours I've tried in the brand. ORIGINAL (4 Stars) - Perfect biltong with a lovely tasty, but I prefer my taste level a little bit higher, thus I generally buy flavoured biltong. GARLIC (4 Stars) - Again very nice biltong, but I found the flavour very wishy washy, & hardly noticed much difference from the Original biltong. I often buy garlic biltong, but this brand's was simply too subtle. PIRI PIRI (2 Stars) - Such a disappointment. The number one biltong flavour I buy in other brands (Cruga, Ember, etc) is Chilli flavour, and I enjoy them very much. This though was WAY too hot. You eat just a few pieces of the beautifully made biltong, and your mouth is burning for the next 5 minutes. Just feels like it's not right to go and ruin lovely biltong with overpowering heat.

This biltong was very good. The cuts of meat were good, not too tough or too much fat, and a light but nice flavour. I prefer my biltong slightly more wet, this was very dry. I've only tried Smallys, which was slightly more wet and I preferred. I only consider biltong that doesn't contain nitrates. Also - I don't know why but this says to consume the biltong within 48 hours of opening, which is strange as biltong is a way of preserving the meat?

This is by far the best biltong in the uk imo. All the others have both potassium sorbate and nitrite. This is one doesn’t have nitrite. Also has less salt than other brands . I expected it to taste drier or more bland than other brands but it’s actually just the same, probably even better. I do like the piri piri flavour, i use it mostly as a quick protein sauce in my salad, also due to its unique spiciness, stops me from snacking too much.

The first 8 packs were fantastic, great flavour and texture. However I left a couple of packs in the cupboard for a few months and came to eat them to find that they had gone off. They smelt sour and had a light/grey mould on each of the slices (see photo). They still have three months on the best before date so I’m not sure why they would have gone of yet, but both packs were the same, so only 3 stars for me. Really tasty but eat them within a couple of months of buying.

Generous portions, Delicious, Nitrate/Nitrites/Additives/Preservatives-free, And a 100% grass-fed beef + salt ONLY! I can never make it last past one sitting. Incredibly addictive and satiating. Please never stop producing it. The Garlic is my favourite and packs a nice punch.

This was my first experience with Biltong and it did not fail to impress me! Delicious, slightly spicy (piri piri), succulent pieces of beef, which melt in the mouth. Very addictive - my mum and I devoured both bags in 2 days, and am now placing my second order. Love that this doesn't contain sodium nitrates. Would like to see an organic version.

I've tried all the flavours and i can honestly say this is the mildest by far, it's pretty much like the original flavour. Really nice regardless, nice texture and flavour, much better than the other big bags from other brands on here. This is now my go to biltong, love it, reasonably priced.
