great value for money
This arrived with really good packaging around it to protect the plant - no transit damage at all.It was also a good size being at the full 30cm (size quoted as being 20-30cm), with a good number of leaves. It was also in a good amount of growing medium which was nicely moist so I don't think the plant had been too much stressed by the transportation. I planted straight away after soaking and it has started growing already and in the few weeks since it arrived I can already see a good number of leaves coming through. The only problem I have had is the weather this summer - so hot that it is suffering a bit with scorched leaves but that is more down to my positioning than the plant itself. I can see that it is valiently still pushing through with new leaves so it is clearly a fighter! I am hopeful that as we head into autumn and the unusually hot weather we have had this summer starts to calm down, that this plant will pull through and get the chance to fully establish and keep the lovely leaves it is putting on.Despite everything that has challenged this little Ficus, I have been pleased with the strength of the plant and it does encourage me. I would definately recommend and use this plant provider again myself.

Does size matter?
I have a large mature fatsia japonica in my garden and wanted to grow another elsewhere. I’ve not seen any for sale in my local garden centres so although I was a bit dubious about buying plants online, I thought I’d give it a go. I was updated by email as to when my plant was despatched and then when it would arrive. The plant arrives boxed and I have to admit, when I saw the size of the box, I thought they must have sent me the wrong item. When I retrieved my japonica from its cardboard home, my partner stifled a laugh at the size of it! (One shouldn’t throw stones….) The plant is very small… more like a cutting, which to be honest, had I had a bit more knowledge, I could have taken a cutting from my own mature plant and saved myself some money. The plant looked a bit bedraggled but then it had been subjected to a few days of transit. The stalk looked like it was covered in brown things, no idea if it was natural or pests. The soil was moist, so it had been well watered. I let my japonica sit for a couple of days before I planted it. Since planting, it’s not withered or discoloured so seems to be a healthy specimen. I think my initial disappointment was due to its size, I have been led to believe by my partner than 9cm is a whopper! The advert for this japonica clearly states it arrives in a 9cm pot. The plant cost 9.99 and when you take into consideration postage and packaging, for under a tenner, this isn’t a bad price for a fatsia japonica.
