How thick is each layer of foam?

There is a 1 1/2 inch thick piece of removable foam in the bottom half.

No metal skeleton. But pretty sturdy.

What is the internal depth of the bottom half? I understand that the total internal depth is 6.1", but how deep is just the bottom?

4 1/2 inches from the split line to the bottom. There is a removable piece of foam in the bottom that is 1 1/2 inches, so if it is in place, the lower half is 3 inches deep without any foam compression.

I've looked all over for the inside dimensions and can't find them in the listing, only confusing measurements. What are they?

The case is made of hard plastic with foam laid in place. Basically the hard plastic appears to be around 3/16" thick. That is my guess. If you take away 1/2" from each of the external dimensions you have an approximate answer. To actually measure the inside dimensions would require me to remove all the phone. I am not able to do that. I hope that this helps.
