This quiz game is fantastic for any Lord of the Rings enthusiast! The questions cover deep lore and movies, making it challenging and incredibly fun for game night. The cards and game pieces are well-designed and feel durable. It's a great way to test your knowledge of Middle-earth! Delivery was timely and the item was packaged well. Highly recommended for fans and future hobbit gatherings!

This was purchased as a gift for my father who is a self proclaimed LOtR buff. The questions had varying levels of difficulty where some were too easy, but others were so specific you would have to have a really great memory/eye for details. He really appreciated it and we had a great time with me quizzing him!

I could play this game all day. Lots of fun with the perfect level of difficulty. Also, the game is based solely on the movies.

Contents and construction: This consists of about 50 cards on each side of a plastic case, which has a clear flip down door for accessing the cards. I suppose this might look kinda cool to some people, but it's completely unneccessary, in my opinion. There is no game mechanic or anything that makes use of the double doors like this. It would have bee n simpler to just access all the cards from a single side. The cards themselves are fairly thick, well made, and contain a different image on each card that relates to the overall topic of that card. Both front and back definitely feel like they have a plastic coating of some kind. The finish is not a high gloss, but still shows a glare. I think it would be best labeled as satin. Warning (do not expose to open flame): This set contains one card that has blacked out answers, and the outer packaging indicates that it is a heat changing card. Body heat, and friction from rapidly rubbing fingers over the card is not enough. I did not try this just yet but I'm guessing an incandescent lightbulb, heat gun, or hair dryer would all work.. Anyhow, given the particular theme involved with this particular card, I'm concerned some less cautious individuals might expose the card to an open flame, and end up catching it on fire. I get that it's a gimmick, but consider this one poorly thought out. I'm not deducting a star for this, and everyone *should* be smart enough not to do that, but anyone purchasing for younger kids (or specific adults with impaired judgement) would probably do well to ensure this particular card is removed. It was located on the inside of one of the two packs in the copy that I received. Play Evaluation: I played a few games of this with my wife tonight. She has recently read LoTR twice, although in a foreign language, as well as watching the films 3 times. It is one of my two favorite movies, and I have read the books 3 times (plus a pass through Silmarilion, Hobbit, Unfinished Tales, etc.). I knew the given answers to all but a few of the questions, and my wife had around half of them. We encountered one just plain obscure question about how many birds are in a specific scene, but that type of thing seems to be an oddity. I'm sure we'll find a few more scattered through the deck, but it's not like it's any meaningful fraction of the game. Anyhow, we kept playing sets of 10 cards (5 each), shuffling, and re-dealing until we went through all of the questions on those cards. Watching my wife forget a few of the answers we had just discussed (and the struggle to remember) prolonged the exercise a bit, but was quite funny for both of us. For situations where it will almost always be the same players, I suggest upping the difficulty by intentionally spreading out the pool of cards before a reshuffle. This could be something as simple as playing two 10 card sets before reshuffling those 20 cards together (or, move up to a whole side for 50 cards).

My son, who’s a huge Lord of the Rings fan, absolutely loves testing his knowledge with the 500 trivia questions that cover every aspect of Middle-earth. It’s not only a fun way for him to show off his expertise but also a great opportunity for the whole family to join in and learn more about the epic saga. The compact design makes it easy to take anywhere, and we’ve had countless laughs and memorable moments playing together. A must-have for any LOTR fan!

I've read the books over a dozen times and this game is challenging! Lots of fun competing against other fans.

My bf and I love LOTR so we went in thinking we'd get every question correct and it would be too easy to entertain us but we were delightfully wrong. There are questions for every level of knowledge of Tolkien's world. Very fun, hours of entertainment.

My boyfriend is a huge fan of LOTR. He’s read all the books and seen all the movies. When I ordered this I thought I’d be able to get a game he wouldn’t know the answers to. Didn’t matter which card I picked, he knew all the answers and then some. He enjoyed it,however, my plan of stumping him did not go over well. Haha but we had a good time with it.

Nicely packaged bought this as part of a Christmas gift we will see how they like it
