This is an amazing fashion encyclopedia which traces the history of fashion design and couture over a century and half. The book is so heavy but very well bound, it's full of large high quality photos showing beautiful creations from every known label. The text is highly informative but also engaging and far from being dry or boring. I highly recommend this book for anyone who needs a comprehensive beautifully illustrated historical overview detailing the development and evolving world of fashion design.

Great visual and text. I don't think I'll ever sell it or trade it for something else. Good background history and information for a couture lover.

This is a must have coffee table book for everyone who loves fashion. It was very informative and inspirational seeing and learnin about all of the most beloved designers in the world of fashion

Bought this book for my mother who worked in the fashion industry for years. She still calls me up to say how much she adores this book - it's incredibly thorough and gives you"inside" information about the lives of designers, the collections, marketing, etc. Covers every decade and every style therein - be prepared to display it on a sturdy table, it's hefty!

100s of color photos, great designer bios, insightful historical background, all at an unbelieveabley inexpensive price. I loved it so much I chose it as the text for my 20th Century Fashion class.

This is a wonderful fashion album of its history,with the designers singled out for an article on each one!! It is beautifully illustrated!

I would have liked more detail and stuff, but that's not what this book is about. It's more about the general gist of designers.
