Q: Can I connect the positive cable to a ignition fuze instead of the battery.

I would not connect to " an ignition" fuse. Many of todays cars have a computer controlled ignition, which can be sensitive to voltage changes. However connection to a switched fuse say for lights or something not related to engine function may be ok. Check your fuse panel their may be an unused circuit, most of todays cars are "wired" for many optional features, and some may not be used in your vehicle. A simple grounded "light bulb tester" can be used to probe any open slots in your fuse panel. Make sure that any connection you make has at least the same size wire as the harness you are using.
