Is there anyone has plastic case and aluminium case ? Any difference?

I have both plastic cases and this case. My transfer rates are equivalent. The aluminum case is tougher in that it resists impacts better (e.g., rubs that would scratch the plastic do not bother the aluminum). Two mounting screws in the aluminum case are visible, which is not true for the plastic case. The aluminum case will be hotter during long transfers. I had an hours-long file transfer and the case got noticeably hot. I have not noticed that with plastic cases. The manufacturer includes a heat shield for HDD drives. The difference is this case is tougher than a plastic case. Like a rugged phone.

Does this drive come with intelligent sleep mode where the drive turns off after a certain period of time due to inactivity?

will this thermal throttle large data transfers , when it heats up as so many cheap enclosures do?

I regularly transfer 3-8gb video files and mine doesn’t seem to have any issues.
