Three animated adventures from the educational children's series designed to teach young viewers art and music appreciation by integrating famous or culturally significant art works and classical music into the scenery, plot, and soundtrack of each episode. In 'The Birthday Machine', June, Leo, Quincy, Annie, and Rocket can't wait to construct a birthday machine, but their quest for parts takes them deep within Michelangelo Buonarroti's painting 'The Laurentian Library' and then on a gondola ride through the canals of Venice where they chase and order specific melodic fragments from Johann Sebastian Bach's 'Brandenberg Concerto Number 5'. In 'Go West Young Train', the group journeys to the American Wild West where they experience the art of Navajo basketry and the music of Georges Bizet while helping Little Red Train recover a bag of party supplies stolen by Big Jet. Finally, in 'The Birthday Balloons', the group journeys around the globe from Seattle, Washington to the tropical rainforest of Henri Rousseau's 'The Merry Jesters' and the ice floes of Antarctica.

So amazing! Buy them all!!!
I LOVE these so much!!! My daughter is now 5 and has been watching Little Einstein’s since she was 2 and she still loves them, along with now her 2 yr old brother! They are so educational, teaching about great classical music, classic art pieces, classic stories and tales, instruments and their names and sounds, different vocal ranges and tones, animals, counting, they travel to different countries, animal migration patterns.... the list goes on, and basically it’s amazing!! There’s nothing else out there like it. My kids surprise me constantly with things they’re learning and I’ll ask where they learned it from and they’ll say this show! Don’t hesitate, buy them all, you will not regret it 😉

This is a great show for toddlers!
My boys are only 18 months, but they are enthralled by this video no matter how many times we play it. I like that they're somewhat interactive and feature classic works of art and music as well as world goegraphy. This is entertainment that has not been dumbed down for kids. Even I learn something watching these videos, like the meaning of "adagio" or "allegro." I look forward to treating my kids to this series for the next few of years. I must add that I agree with the other reviewer's comments about gender and race sterotypes. I was struck by that the first time that I saw a preview of this show. However, I don't feel that the content or meaning of the videos is diminished by this. It will be my job to ensure that my children are exposed to experiences that show that different people have different things to offer and not to make sweeping generalizations about individuals based on their gender, race, or anything else.

Great Educational Movie for Toddlers and Small Children!
My little girl is a huge Einsteins fan and since the show was relatively new, it hardly came on TV. I purchased several Little Einsteins videos for her to watch, enjoy and best of all, they are very educational! I would recommend these for ANYONE with small children! She was only a year old when she started watching and enjoying the show! I mean really, at less than two-years old she could tell you what most instruments were, identify Dvorak & Beethoven, and tell you what adagio means! Uh, talk about making mommy feel dumb!

Thoroughly enjoyed...
If I'm going to let me kids watch something, it might as well be fun and informative! Purchased one from a Blockbusters that was closing its doors. The kids (and I) liked it so much, we decided to purchase a handful more! We have been very pleased thus far, with the introduction of Art, Music as well as animals and imaginative fun! I highly recommend over less thought provoking programs.

Love Little Einsteins! (except when they aren't in tune)
Adorable shows! We love Little Einsteins in our house. I have a Master's degree in Music Education and the Little Einsteins are always on track with musical terms as well as age-appropriate musical activities. The only thing that bothers me (and this is true for all the episodes, not just the ones on this DVD) is that when they sing they are not in tune with the background music. That makes me crazy, but it doesn't bother my kiddos. Anyway, this is chock full of lots of important music and it's a fun way for kids to be familiar with famous works. My 3-year-old can't get enough Little Einsteins. On another note, if you're planning to play this in a car DVD player, it doesn't seem to want to automatically play all the selections on the disc, as most other DVD's like this do. It just continues playing the first episode on the disc. Slightly strange, and irritating since you can't exactly use the remote and worry about it while you are a) driving and b) can't see the screen and your 3 year old can't read to figure it out. Hence, the reason for the 4 stars.
