Educational Digital Microscope For Laptops/PCs with USB Ports
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this digital microscope to use with my son. We already have one with a flexible crane base, and I wanted one with a more traditional tripod or stabilized base.Although this microscope is advertised as working with cell phones, smart phones, and tablets, I was never able to get it to pair. But that's okay, because I would typically use this with a laptop running Windows 10. And for that purpose-- with a USB port-- it was plug-and-play.Honestly, the base of this microscope is not as rock-solid as I would have liked. Even with it cranked down as tight as possible, it tends to droop or sag under it's own weight. Be aware of that if you intend to rely upon the stand for rigidity. But again, for my purposes, and my young son (4yo), we are not splitting atoms or looking at mitochondrial DNA. This video I took is of beach sand, and that's more what we'll be doing until he gets much older. I think we'll also look at some leaves and fruit and vegetables. Therefore a stand really isn't even necessary. The picture quality is good, the focus ring works excellent, and the LED lighting is a real plus (as you need more illumination the more you intend to zoom-in).Happy overall with everything except the base/stand.

A Great Tool but the Stand is Limited
When choosing a digital microscope to use for hobby purposes, I went with this model because it had a better resolution, recorded in a bit higher megapixel and could connect to my Android phone. All of these things are a benefit to me over the cheaper models. getting it to work with my Mac desktop was a bit frustrating and took a while before I figured it out. The solution (for any Mac Users) was finding a USB port that was connected to a *powered* USB hub. I also found that a USB 2 extension worked better than a 3.0 cable. Once connected it worked well with Photo Booth. The stand is impractical as is. The higher the magnification, the more sensitive the scope is to the slightest movement. It's like using a telephoto or zoom lens. You will have to mount the stand on a sturdy platform to really use this scope for anything larger than a grape. I ordered a lighted stand to hold the scope.Overall, a good buy. I am satisfied. I do wish it had a carrying case.

Fascinating for kids and adults science study 🤩
The media could not be loaded. I purchase this microscope for my kids science projects. We love going out in the nature, explore and pick up samples to bring home. Sketch them and investigate them further. Then I thought it would be nice for the kids to get a closer look at those samples. I was looking for a kids friendly microscope and portable . I really like that I can connect it to my phone and laptop to have a bigger image . Once I unboxed it and read the instruction, it was easy to follow and use ( no help from husband 😁) just know what the buttons are for and you’re good to go. I like that it portable , we brought it to our backyard to take a close look at fall🍁 leaves and grass .We went out for are nature walk and brought home some samples of moss and plant . We were fascinated with the picture quality! We found the tiniest snail 🐌 and a couple of bugs🦟🕷. I love that I can take pictures and video record or findings . So I’m sharing the picture of moss and plant from the microscope lens. We really had fun with this project and I’m already planing more science lessons to make good use of this microscope .

OK to use overall, not for very small stuff
I got this based on a suggestion for electronics repair. The advertised 1000x is not true, it is more like fixed 50x-ish with digital zoom (via smartphone only, not via USB). The dial with the label 50x-1000x is actually focus dial and does not change the zoom. This will not pick up really small items like an amoeba or other single celled organism or some of the smaller electronics component. It is OK overall with decent 1024x768 shot or video. The software for Windows is rather minimal but good enough for average users. I could not use Android version, I kept getting "This was made for older version of Android" and got lots of error trying to connect (Samsung A32) so I was unable to test the wifi part or the digital zoom.EDIT: Camera software has a bug. When I try to exit it, I got error message "Unable to write to camera.ini" and the software refuses to quit. I had to force it to quit through Taskmanager. Sounds like broken permission setting? Program needs to be fixed to work correctly under Windows 10?EDIT 2: it seems there's been a change in T mobile version of Android OS that changes how permission worked. From Reddit forum, someone said the app is not working on mine because it wasn't updated to ask for permission to connect via wifi directly, thus the app will never work on my Android OS. I've decided to return this since I am not buying an older Android device just to use this, will look for a different wifi camera.

Led magnifier
It has a bright white light led. And can go up to x 1000. The least it goes is x50. Pretty easy to hook up once you download the app and have it connect to your phone WiFi. Seeing all the crystals on a plant made it all worth while.
