I'm an electrical contractor and do a lot of boat docks, I warranty my work. The best way to make it last it to use heat shrink connectors and tinned copper wire.

I bought it to use for my outside speakers. The wire is actually installed inside 1/2 PVC to give a bit more protection. If I had to do it again, I would have bought the 14/2 but this will work well.
