vegan forever and this book is amazing!
ive been vegan for 38 years and have literally hundreds of cookbooks. It took a chance on this, dont know why, but it was calling to me. Im so so glad I bought this.ok, so lets get the elephant out of the room. THERE ARE NO PHOTOS.Once upon a time, that would seriously influence my decision to buy, but in this case I could see immediately that photos had been forfeited for extra recepies. The level of nutritional understanding and sheer variety of dishes makes this my new go to vegan bible. It really IS that good.Have you ever found a vegan cookbook with a dessert section padded out with 101 fruit salads???? How annoying is that? like dude.....i can cut a strawberry and smother it in soya yoghurt.THIS has pages and pages of pure delicious desserts that require more than knife skills. Chocolate lovers will melt when they see whats in this naughty chapter. In the other pages you can find different, unusual and eye opening combinations of spices to switch things up.....How disappointed do we get with the same main course bases of onion garlic, ginger, chilli and sesame oil combos???? im sick to death of flaming chilli and ginger vegan soaked meat replacements. This book has just given me an idea of how to use up half a tin of jackfruit and the last few spoonfuls of callaloo. Accompanied with a flash fried side of spinach, pine nuts and butter beans. Pique your imagination and get this book.

I’m a fan! Worth the buy! Reasonably priced!
Im just gonna be honest!!!I can give this book a solid 4/5. It would have been a 5/5 with pictures (spoiler alert: THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE PHOTO IN THIS WHOLE BOOK!) I borrowed my friend’s book before purchasing my own.Now here’s the skinny:Love: This is NOT a preachy, “you need to get your life together” book!!! It’s a very well put together recipe book for those who already know the obvious and want to start cooking & eating better TODAY!!Love: Right out of the gate there are a few pages for content directions, a short introduction (1/2 page), what plant base is about 1 pge, benefits if plant base 1 page and on page 12.... let there be recipes! Exactly 550 recipes to choose from! I have 34 “go to” favorites out of 37 recipes I've tried thus far. There are some recipes that I KNOW for a FACT, are for the shiits & giggles (according to my taste buds’ history lol) However, there are so, so many more recipes that tickle my fancy.Love: Most of the recipes you can make once and be able to wing it or freestyle to your own liking the next go around. This book is also excellent for quick & flavorful go to recipes when you just want to prepare something quick & yummy!Love: The sauces and condiments section is clutch! Make those first lol. The Garlic Cilantro Dressing is really good (you can use parsley as a cilantro sub). Vegan mayo was pretty good too. I thought the Aquafaba (chickpea juice) Mayo was gonna give me the shiiits but it was actually pretty good with some smoked paprika & slap ya mama low sodium cajun seasonings added. So don’t throw away your canned chickpea juice. It’s liquid gold! Who knew??Indifferent: If this book is based on “plant based cooking for beginners” there should be some photos to give an indication that you’re on the right track. Most buyers may be new to vegan/plant based cooking/eating. Some of the ingredients may be new to them as well. People may need a visual photo guide of how the final product should look before they take a “nailed it” or “failed it” photo with accuracy? 😅Im not new to plant based/vegan cooking. Having a photo free book is fine for me. I just remember how frustrating & difficult it was starting out with new veggies, seasonings, and herbs & techniques 13 years ago. Seeing visually pleasing photos makes me want to recreate a dish that caught my eye. After all, we eat/cook with our senses.Love: Most of the ingredients in this book were really easy to find at Meijer’s, Kroger’s, Trader Joe’s, Aldi’s, Target, Amazon, Walmart, Plum Market, Fresh Thyme Market, Whole Foods, etc (midwest). So plan and prep ahead. That’s my schpill! 😁

Great book!
So many recipes, something to suit everyone regardless of ability. No long lists of obscure or expensive ingredients. There's something suitable, regardless of the occasion. No pictures, but that's not necessarily a problem. Besides, how many times does the final result resemble the magazine or book picture? I'm very happy with my purchase.

Good book
The recipes in this book are really healthy, no nonsense recipes. I have been a vegetarian for 20+ years and had got stuck in cooking the same foods all the time. This has given me loads of ideas for new meals and twists to add to things I already do. There are no pictures inside the book, (which means more actual recipes) which is novel, but I am looking forward to creating/presenting foods how I want them to look, rather than trying to make them look like a picture.

Great recipe book.
A bit boring, not a lot of pics to see how it's supposed to come out, after cooked. Lots of recipes. Will need to get shopping for some of the strange ingredients. But once I get used to the change,I will be fine.
