It is worth paying this price
This wrist guard is much better than the others. It is alot more money so I had to buy it just to see what is so great about it. Thanks to AMAZON, I knew that I could return it if it wasn't worth the price. It is worth the price. The quality was obvious as soon as I opened the box. Instead of velcro, the glove closes by turning a dial on top of the hand. As you turn the dial clockwise, the 'wires' tighten smoothly around your hand and pull the glove closed. In so doing, there is an even tension created on all sides that is very comforting. As you tighten it, you will know when it is tight enough. When at the correct tension the glove supports all parts of the hand; especially the wrist and thumb without causing any discomfort. It appears that when turning the dial, it would not be possibe to over do it. The dial appears to have a slip gear that will prevent any over cranking. As far as I can tell, there is no other carbol tunnel (sp) glove that employs this innovative technology. I am sure that it will provide many years of quality use. The materials are strong where they need to be strong and soft where you will want them to be soft. The weak point in this design would be the 'wire dial' concept. The dial must be able to hold up under the strain of tightening and loosening many times during the day. The mechanism is of a very high quality so I am sure that it will hold up if not misused. To release the tension, simply lift the dial firmly. You will feel the release and the glove will slip off. To tighten the glove, just push down firmly on the dial and turn clockwise to tighten.. Please let me know if you find this review helpful. Had another day with the new wrist guard. It still works great. When I crank it down beyond where I would normally wear it, it seems to loosen up slightly as I move around. That's a good thing. It's worth every penny.

If you are wearing it a lot, it is so much better than Velcro straps
I have to wear support like this very frequently for my wrist that I have consistent issues with. I have purchased several of the Mueller wrist guards over the years. They tend to wear out after a certain period of time because the Velcro becomes so overused it doesn’t have grip anymore. Decided to invest in something a little more expensive and go for this boa system and I’m super happy with it. I have boa systems on other products of mine like snowboard boots, so I knew the system would work well. Honestly honestly, this is a great application for it. Only downside is sometimes you can accidentally hit the little dial since it’s on the inside of your arm.As far as sizing goes, I found it to be really true to the measurements. You see on the website. I have long fingers but fairly small wrists. I ordered the medium and found it to be too big, it was almost overlapping when tightened around my wrist because I was needing to tighten it so far. Ended up going with the small and I’m really happy. I was right on the line measurement wise between the two sizes (small and medium) and because so many people said that it ran so small, so I went to the Medium, but then regretted it.Only thing I could see about the small that maybe would bother someone if they’re on the edge is the strap that goes around your hand above your thumb is not adjustable, so for some people it might feel too tight. I am definitely on the upper end of what the small is made for, but after a little bit of wearing the strap Became more comfortable. All in all excited to have something that’s going to last longer than my last guards.

8 months and going strong, but requires a modification!
Pros:* Has worked reliably every day for 8 months.* Worth the price in the long run, since clicking to tighten is much easier than redoing Velcro.Con:* The black color is conspicuous; skin colors would be nice.Pro tips:* Actually *decompression* helps wrist injury; compression makes the injury worse. (Try it on yourself!). To correct this, I insert a rolled up cloth underneath the wrist, before tightening the device -- keeping the wrist bones more separated. Super comfy.* Be even easier on the wrists by letting the hands "hang" when horizontal, instead of being pulled up by the forearm muscle (which pulls against the wrist).
