I bought 10 of these. Almost perfect, deducting one star
I think there is some misconception regarding the PEP 1 rating. The plastic rating 1 stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate, PETE. As per some trivial research, PET is used extensively in food packaging and storage, not just for water bottles. These bottles are being compared to bisleri and kinely water bottles because they are also marked as PEP 1. That is wrong. These are in no way the same bottles even if both have the same rating. These are far more sturdier and durable. I think as long as we don't put very hot water in these, there should be no possibility of "leaching chemicals". At least these things have a rating, its surprisingly uncommon in a lot of plastic bottles. The main problem I had is that these have a capacity of 900 ml and not 1 litre, so that was kind of a bummer. Other thing was that the caps of these bottles are a little brittle, when compared to the bottle itself. It's not like the caps will break after simply falling from a table or kitchen counter, but decent force will be enough to crack the caps. So far one cap has cracked for me, a straight line along the side. But somehow, the bottle still doesn't leak. So that's great. Deducting one star for the problems mentioned above. All in all I'm very satisfied.
