Try filling and rinsing the bottles with hot, soapy water. Spray the soapy water through the sprayer. Also, it’s possible the bottom of the sprayer straw is stuck flat against the bottom of the glass bottle and not drawing liquid. Try trimming them at a slight angle with a razor blade or very sharp knife.

I need a better bottle for Poo-Pouri refills. Will these leak if sprayed at an angle?

I''ve only had these for a few months, but no leaks I can find. I've just turned the one I'm regularly using for my cologne so that the spray went straight up and then straight down, and neither time was there a leak. A few random microscopic drops of spray might have 'bounced back' onto the spray head since I was holding it close to my body parts (wrist and upper chest), but I couldn't see much evidence of it and there was definitely no dripping. This is the best atomizer I've ever come across for my purposes (cologne)--the spray is very fine, doesn't drip, and one squirt produces just the right amount of scent in terms of my preferences. MUCH better than the cologne manufacturer's spray bottle.

how do you spray essential oils?

You just put your mixture into the bottle and spray it. I don't think you would just spray your essential oils alone as typically you would dilute them in some type of carrier oil before using them.
