Warming/Cooling Dog Harness, Adjustable Neck, Medium, Black

Was lucky to have posted on their Facebook page to ask what size my 25 lb. French Bulldog should wear. They suggested a Size Small and it fits perfectly. I also use this without the pax as my regular harness as I find it's well made and quite stylish too . Works great with the cumfy pax but as we live in the Philippines where it's usually hot and humid, the pax doesn't last as long as I thought it would, it stays cold for about an hour,which is better than nothing on a really hot summer day. I still highly recommend this product though, without the cumfy pax it's still a very useful, well fitting harness.

We got this for our epileptic dog because she tends to run hot in the summer and when she gets overheated she has seizures. She's a 40 lb pocket pittie with a dachshund shaped body (long and squat) so we originally ordered a medium but had to send it back and get a small. The small fits her perfectly! It's convenient, we just put it on her whenever we notice her temp is elevated and it cools her off. The harness is easy to get on and off. I love that the cool pack is against her chest where she needs it most. I wish the cool pack lasted a little longer but the ice pack is necessarily small and I'm not surprised by how quickly her body heat warms it up. I like that it's not overly cold and it doesn't seem to bother her. This chill harness does the job and it gets her temp down. This is not something I could use to keep her cool while she's out in the sun all day because the chill pack doesn't last that long, but it's perfect for that quick 30 minute cool down and once her temp is down she tends to stay cool for awhile. At some point I will probably try to find additional ice packs so I can just swap them out as they warm up and extend the cooling time.

I have a big problem here! I ordered 2 Kumfy Tailz warming/cooling Dog Harness for my yorkie in 2 diferent sizes, x-small and small to see which one fit on him because he is between sizes so.... I received the x-small harness on Monday June 3 and it was too small for my dog, I received the Small size one today BUT the product was packaged in a zip-lock bag WITHOUT the gel-kumfy pax in it! This product is USELESS like this! Also it looks like they sent me a product that was previously returned because the harness has white dog hair on it. Very dissapointed...... UPDATE: After I received the first harness without the kumfy pax AMAZON send me another one which I received today WITHOUT THE "REUSABLE KUMFY PAX" AGAIN! Is this a JOKE? At this point I don't want to return the product I just want to receive the gel-pax! UPDATE: Today, Sat June 8 I finally received the "Kumfy Tailz with the Kumfy Pax" in it. The complete product! I tried already in my yorkie and fits nice ( small size ) and is lightweight. After all, I'm finally happy with the product.

I'm thoroughly pleased with the Komfy Tailz harness. I live in Georgia and the summers are VERY HOT. Walking my dogs in the afternoon is difficult on them. With this harness and the included packs my dogs seem much more comfortable and don't refuse to move when they find shade. The fit chart is good. My dogs were in between sizes and I ordered the smaller size. There was still plenty of adjustment even with the smaller size. My dogs do pull a bit more from their previous harnesses, which attached at the chest, but that id because of the type of harness and I already knew that. If you want your foods to be comfortable in hot out cold weather and also a harness that spreads the load of the harness over a large soft pad (also more comfortable) this is the harness you need to buy.

Ordered two harnesses for my large older dogs so that they could march in a parade with my veterinary co-workers tomorrow. It will be a record high for the 4th of July in Washington. Representing a veterinary clinic in the parade, naturally I wanted to display heat safety as an example to others. Even went to the extreme of buying mushers wax to apply to their paw pads before fitting their booties so that they can safely walk on the hot asphalt. Unfortunately I received only one harness, so only one of my dogs will not be able to attend, which saddens me because they love all the attention they get from the crowd, and sadly due to age this would probably be his last parade. As a responsible pet parent I do all I can to ensure my elderly dogs enjoy the best life possible while I still have them around. I ordered rush shipping so that I could ensure the product in time for the 4th. Missed orders mean more than your know, even if it's a simple harness. To make matter worse, I really have no idea if my issue was resolved because I could not understand a word the gentleman was saying to me on the phone. Overall worst experience with Amazon yet!

Sizing I have a 20 lb French Bulldog with a 16" neck and 21" chest and the size small fits him well. Since the maximum neck measurement for the size small is 16", getting the harness over his big head isn't as easy as I'd like it to be. A design improvement would be to give the neck straps clipping extenders like the chest straps. I didn't need the chest extender straps because my Frenchie's girth measurements met the minimum for the small. That means that getting the next size up would've been too loose in the chest but easier to get over the head. Effectiveness Aside from sizing, I have to say that I've tried nearly every cooling solution there is for my dog and this one just OK. As other reviewers have mentioned, the cooling pack isn't very big, especially for the small-sized harness, and it doesn't stay cold for more than an hour. We live part-time in South Texas and the cooling pack hasn't stayed cold for more than 30 minutes during 15 minute walks in 75 degree Fall weather. That's not hot by any means for Texas weather, so I don't anticipate that the cooling pack will stay cold for more than 15 minutes in normal, 85+ degree Summer heat. Overall, it's likely a better solution if you live in milder weather and/or only plan on taking your dog out for a limited amount of time in hot temperatures. I'll be keeping the harness and likely layering it with a cooling bandana until I can find a more effective cooling solution for my active pup. It's better than having nothing.

GREAT DESIGN! A lot of cooling coats are designed so the cooling part is on the dogs back...not exactly the most efficient way to cool down a hot dog. This one targets the most important areas, the chest and underbelly. If a dog is hot, the best way to cool them down is by cooling their chest and belly (main arteries). This design does exactly that! My 100 pound french mastiff doesn't cool down very quickly, and it's hard to watch him panting like mad for an hour just to cool himself after a little bit of play. This vest is perfect!! He cools down in half the time :)

The size chart for these is not accurate. My pug measured with a neck size of 19" and belly size of 24" so I ordered the medium. The size chart even says, " If between sizes, consider the larger size. If the dog has a stout build, deep chest, or is overweight, consider going up one size." My pug's neck measurement is right at the minimum for a medium, and her belly is in between small and medium so I ordered the medium. It was much too BIG. I minimized the belly belt as small as possible, but I could still lift it away from her body at least 1.5". The neck size at the smallest adjustment fit ok, but the width of the harness that goes down her chest was too wide. There was almost a half of an inch extra on each side that I could fold over. If she were to wear this, it would rub her legs raw with all that excess. I love the idea of this harness. My pug loves to be active, but since she is a pug, she can't cool herself off. She gets over heated very quickly. Sadly, if the fit had been accurate, it would still not be resolved because there was not a Kumfy Pax gel pack included like it says there would be. I had read other reviews that said it was missing from their order, but thought that since this was fulfilled by Amazon instead of a 3rd party that it wouldn't be an issue. I am very disappointed that we will be leaving on our trip without a way to cool her off.
