RUNmax 20LBS - 150LBS Adjustable Weighted Vest Wtih Shoulder Pads Option for Men and Women

Really happy with this weighted vest. The build quality is solid, the price was right, and I love that it offers such a wide range — you can go as light as 20 lbs and scale all the way up to 150. It’s comfortable to wear considering the weight, though fair warning: once you load it up, it will feel heavy — that’s the point. Here’s my old-man advice if you’re new to weighted vests: don’t start at the top. Add weight gradually and let your body adapt — wear it for walks or around the house first before you jump into workouts. Your joints, back, and knees will thank you. Once you’re used to it, this vest becomes an incredible tool for training, hiking, or just turning everyday movement into exercise. Overall, it’s exactly what I wanted — sturdy, adjustable, and capable of growing with you as you get stronger.

I will preface this by saying that you should NEVER run in any weight vest. Walking stairs, walking, elliptical...all fine but you run in a weight vest and some time in your life you will be seeing an orthopedic surgeon...ok...enough lecture... Weight vests are a great thing. They are versatile and safe. If you want to do lunges but are concerned about safety when using dumb bells, a vest is the answer. Want to get a chest blasting workout with only a few different exercises and sets of push-ups? Weight vest is awesome. Even want to burn some extra calories on an elliptical...great idea. But...most vests are unbalanced, uncomfortable, and cumbersome. They don't have enough variations in sizing. They hang too much in the front. They cut into your throat when doing push-ups or they poke your back when you are doing squats. But, this vest gets it right. The RUNmax is one of those few fitness products that covers pretty much all the bases. It has great weight balance options. I have the 100lb version and it has 5 pockets on front and back spaced really well allowing easy and accurate distribution of weight. The vest is very versatile in it's fit. It has a nice two band wrap around system that can be changed to fit different body shapes. The straps that go around the torso are very wide but taper to grab tightly. The Velcro on the straps is high quality. The vest is comfortable in a cross-fit environment, on an elliptical, or even walking around a track. But...AND TAKE NOTE...that is with the shoulder pads installed. That is my one real problem with it. The vest should come with removable shoulder pads. I can't imagine using the vest for more than 10 minutes without the pads. So, why make them an option and charge more for them. I would prefer that the company simply sell the vest with them because I cannot even imagine a person buying this vest and not eventually wanting the pads. So, I guess I am saying buy the vest and include the pads...even though they should be included. They should be included. But even with that the vest is great. It holds tight, feels firm, and is really a great addition to a workout. I would buy it again (with the shoulder pads) without hesitation.

This is a fantastic product if you want to add something extra to your walk. Its heavier then a military vest, and after buying an extra sandbag to shoot at, could potential save you like one as well buuuut don't bet on it. I use this vest for adding a little extra to my choirs and when Im going up and down stairs. It fits well on a 270lb guy like me, but there are some draw backs to it that I have found annoying. The first is that when bending down to grab something the velcro doesnt hold the best. Most of the time I have to hold the vest in place if Im reaching for something. It's also bulky so don't expect to be doing push-ups with weights in the front unless your planning on using platforms to rise up a bit. The other drawback is trying to get the weights just right in the vest. I found that if I have a spot between two of them it is hard to get it fully packed in the slot. Also if using the full 60lbs I would recommend wearing something a little thicker even with the pads on it. The positive aspects would be that you can adjust the weight as needed. I started out with 30lbs and moved up from there. Plus with the pads on it I can wear it for longer periods of time. The max Ive been able to wear it is 3hrs. One other amazing thing is that it acts great for stability control on other exercises. When Im not wearing it I can blast a few curls with it that adding the extra movement really hits home. Plus you can hold it crossed armed up to your chest to do squats with or wear it as well. Pros: Balance Control Adjustable weights Great add on for basic work outs Maybe save a life, who knows Cons: Sand shifts making it hard to get weights in sometimes Pads have to be shifted just right or hurts collar bone Velcro not the best Needs more padding DON'T RUN, this thing bounces around too much. Losing weight is never an easy endeavor. As people lose weight it becomes harder to shed the extra pounds since their bodies are becoming more efficient. It's one of the reasons why people hit plateaus after losing 15-30 pounds. Less weight = less calories burned. That's the situation I am in. After losing 15-20 pounds over the last few months my body is fighting me on losing weight. So I decided to add a weight vest to home workouts, runs and walks with the dog. I am a pretty good sized male at 5'9'' and 220 pounds. I figured adding 40-60 pounds was a good weight to add to my frame to wear while doing chores and walking the dog. It has been shown that weight vests can help burn 12% more calories which can help you bust through your next level of fitness. I grabbed the RUNmax 60 pound vest and it's freaking heavy duty. It is well made as I never worry about it coming apart at the seams and crushing my feet. It's made from ballistic nylon which is ultra-strong and is good for air drying after sweating in it. It makes every chore harder and helps build my lower back and abs. It also makes me much more aware of my posture and helps me improve my lifting habits. I wear mine for about an hour everyday in 30 minute intervals and I can certainly feel it throughout my body. The weights can be removed to lighten the load which is a nice option to have if I want to change up my workouts. For days that I want to jog in it, I will remove 40 pounds and run with 20. It's not as easy as you would think and wearing 60 pounds gives me a whole new level of respect for those in the military who lug around all of that gear all freaking day.

I am very pleased with this weighted vest. It appears to be made well and my walks are very challenging with it loaded at 48lbs (I bought a 60lb vest, but removed some of the weights). It is as comfortable as can be expected. The main discomfort is felt in the shoulders, though I did buy it with the shoulder pads. This vest is less expensive and more comfortable than the vest I had from one of the big fitness companies. I definitely recommend this vest. Get more results from your walks!

I received my weighted vest earlier today, and I've been wearing it for a good portion of the day. So far, my impressions are largely positive. I ordered the 60 LB vest with shoulder straps, as that seemed to be the best value proposition, and it allowed me to remove weights. My first impression was how heavy the 60 LB vest really was. It came with the weights (sandbags) installed. I'd suggest removing them before putting the vest on. The vest does include some instructions, but I confess I did not read them. I'm not sure if removing the weights is recommended, but it really helps. You can then reload the weights once the vest is on. Aside from the difficulty of getting the fully-loaded vest on, it fit pretty comfortably. I didn't notice much pull on my shoulders, and the weight seems well-distributed, without too much pull on my shoulders, even without the pads - though I did definitely notice that the weight on my shoulders was enough that the muscles there are getting tired. In fact, I definitely noticed the weight of the vest just moving around, and it seems like I'm going to need to build up some core strength to really try to work out with the full 60 LBs. I was a little concerned that the vest had been damaged during shipping, as the box was beaten up and there was a metal ring sticking out of it. However, the vest only uses sand for weight, and the sand bags all seem intact, with no leakage. The fabric smelled only very faintly of plastic and seems tough and rigid, though there were some loose threads in some of the stitching. As far as exercise is concerned, even with 4 of the 6 pouches emptied (so down to 36 LBs of weight), the vest still made it a lot easier to get my heart rate up when walking, though it was difficult to even try running. Squats worked well, and there's definitely a bit more of a burn there. I noticed a good increase in difficulty walking up two steps at a time. On the downside, the vest is thick enough that it does tend to get in the way of some arm movements, and you can't go all the way down doing pushups. We're talking a good 3 inches thick, mainly because of the sandbags. I suppose metal weights would have been less bulky, but probably a lot more expensive. Overall, I think this vest will still help me meet my fitness goals, as it does provide a physical challenge in various exercises. I'm a little disappointed at movement limitations with my arms, but not enough to regret the purchase. I do think this is going to last pretty well, as long as I make sure to keep any unused sandbags away from where anything could puncture them. I'd also recommend figuring out what the maximum weight you may want to try using, buying that, and then adding more weight to the vest as you feel comfortable. That seems better than making multiple purchases, but your mileage may vary.

It’s a good vest. Some good things: 1. love how comfortable it is 2. Easy to adjust weights 3. Great shoulder straps 4. Easy to put on Some things I did not like: 1. Wait time took forever, especially wondering it came from CA and was charged on my credit card before it even came in. Took over 2 weeks to arrive. 2. Material gets me a little scared, and not sure how long it will last. 3. Couldn’t fit the water source as described, if I recall that there is one, but I do think it was described. 4. Can’t tighten it up to ny fit for some reason, and is loose at times. 5. A little pricy for this, but overall I’m ok with it. Will do the job. Like to give it a true 3.5

Ordered 60 pounds vest, comes with 10 6-pound satchels of weight. Best way to take out and put in weights is when the vest is laying on a surface, but rather hard to do while wearing the vest. Seems sturdy and comfortable, even without shoulder pads. Make sure to load even weight on front and rear of the vest, otherwise it will start sliding down to the heaviest side while you exercise. Vest is also a bit too long for me (5'9" / 175cm) , so when I squat, bottom of the vest is interfering with my thighs, but not too terrible. p.s. 60lb is A LOT of weight, if you are not used to something like this. But you can just take weights out!

Love this vest; this particular 60lb model was a much better price than several of the other ones, so that adds to the bonus. Durability over time will only be told... over time. But for now, it seems sturdy and I've used it multiple times a week for the last several weeks, and it's exactly what you'd want :)

I am 5'6"(167cm) weighing at 154lbs(70kg). It fits me perfectly thanks to velcro strap and it still has room for bigger body frame. I ordered the 60lbs with shoulder strap which came with 10 sand columns weighing at 6lbs each supposing 60lbs ÷ 10 sandbag slots(to be confirmed) otherwise it would be false advertising. 5 slots in the front and 5 slots in the back for the sand bags. To be honest the straps are not worth the additional cost to the order as you can buy something more useful. The front and rear are sewed together and only time will tell how long itll hold. It has a little pocket/flap for your cellular device with a designated wired earphone slot but you would have to flip open the velcroed flap and onto another velcro opening to directly access your device. It also has a water bottle holder. I would have given this 5 stars if the velcro strap was properly alligned but great product anyways and that it came with weights

Awesome... I have the 40 lbs and 60 lbs vests and are great but the Velcro pops open so additional fastener is required if you decide to do a push up with one on once you get use to it... Make sure you remove before your fatigue is at the point you can't lift the vest off yourself!!!

I love that the weight is adjustable and that it comes with the removable padded shoulders. It even comes with a small I pod holder on the front for listening to tunes or whatever! Exactly what I was looking for.
