Seymour 620-1415 Industrial MRO High Solids Spray Paint, Gloss Black

Really good paint, one coat. High gloss. Adheres well, easy to use.

W/ Humidity over 50%, your paint will for sure, crinkle up. Especially if you are painting something in the shape the same as a porcelain plate or a 60s VW Hubcap. . The paint will slide, gather, & it will bubble. It can look good for up to 7-8 days before you see any paint defects, then it'll bubble or crackle due to buildup & trapped humidity. In dry weather, no worries. I have had to repaint an old motocross hub now over 4xs due to quick Humidity shiftsi live 6 miles from Seal Beach inland. And it's July, wet or too windy or hot. "I listened" to the ...Semi-truck Commercial Use Guy's review ...which is why I bought it. I've used 2X aka 1K rattle can gloss black for years & couldn't figure out why I never liked the Final Color. If you match this up to Gloss-Black-powdercoated-metal, this paint color will match. All Rustoleum branded gloss black spray paints have too much of a dark gray primer tint to it. None of them look like they should. If yon't believe me, YOU can test it out without a fresh looking powdercoated frame. Any clean sheet metal will do. The test will cost You less than $20 in paint. I am restoring a 1960s British 750 Enduro, whose frame has "hours" on it after it was freshly powdercoated about 25-30 years ago, (pre-chinese made painting materials or, or EPA regs back then). My family has owned the non-running bike for over 20 years, soon to be on the streets. THIS spray PAINT matched the color & cleanliness exactly to the existing non scratched powdercoated areas of the frame. There was only one small area on the low right side of the frame that had issues from small rock chips. Gone now. Easy to wet sand and blend in. Highly recommended!!! Update 7/10/25 DO NOT use any Rust-Oleum clear coating on top of this paint, it will krinkle after 1 week. Such a waste of time and effort. I have done the research. It is all about the humidity, how thick you paint, and when to spray the clear. You should wait 4-5 days to clear over. I am choosing SPRAYMAX 2K clear. If you want your end results to look great use Seymour with the 2K clear. Seymour gloss black "does" look like powdercoating compared to ALL the other known name brands.

I'm retired and in the process of rehabbing a 1996 ATV. It was in excellent shape but rubber rots and rust never sleeps. I picked the Seymour product line because this stuff was made for commercial equipment. After the prep and prime steps, I shook the life out of the can. I had to, you can feel the rattle being slowed by all the solids. Tip 1 shake it more than enough, then shake some more. Tip 2 when getting ready to paint, get it moving and quick. It don't play, it's putting down product. Hopefully the pictures do the finish justice. The shiny bits I've nickel electroplated, then sprayed with Seymour clear engine coating. But the black Seymour MRO is just wow. It lay's down so nice. The gloss is just crazy! The wheel pic shows the Seymour MRO in grey. Both the MRO (Maintenance/Repair/ Operation) paints did excellent fill and level out so sweet. Strong pigments. Tip 3 Kinda follow the instructions. What I mean by that is follow the application instructions, but don't believe the cure time. Have patience. It reminds me of curing old school lacquer. A cliche was the longer you left it, the harder it got. You'd paint on Friday to touch on Monday. Same here, give it time. I sprayed in 70° and under 40% humidity and I suggest 36+ hours cure time, it's worth the wait. Of note is the lack of fumes. After the initial off gassing the scent is indetectable. Seymour is now my brand of choice, no more box store paint for me. I'm very, very impressed.
