Can I use this with regular AA batteries, or do I have to charge it via USB-C?

Both! Charge via USB-C for daily use, or drop in 2 standard AA cells (not included) when off-grid. AA mode still delivers 500 lumens at 93 meters — covered with or without power.

What's the difference between the Archer 2A V3 and the 2A C? Is the upgrade worth it?

The 2A C is the upgrade: 1018 lumens / 167m beam (vs V3's 500 / 93m) plus USB-C charging while keeping AA backup. Same dual switch + IPX8 build. Choose 2A C for max output, V3 for entry price.

How bright is 1018 lumens in real-world use?

Bright enough to light a backyard, dark trail, or full parking lot end-to-end — the 7000-candela beam reaches 167 meters. Drops down to Firefly 0.5 lumens for close-up tasks, so powerful when needed.

Is it really waterproof? Will it survive being dropped?

Yes — IPX8 rated (submersible to 2m) and drop-tested to 1.5m. Aerospace-grade aluminum body handles rain, snow, and daily knocks.

How big is it? Will it fit in a pocket, glovebox, or emergency bag?

Yes — compact EDC size that slides into a jeans pocket, glovebox, backpack, or emergency kit. Pocket clip keeps it secure, anti-roll knurling stops it rolling off flat surfaces. (See spec sheet for exact dimensions.)

I'm hard to impress and this flashlight far exceeded my expectations

I am impressed by this flashlight. For a small convenient flashlight the light output is more than I expected. The strobe will catch anyone's attention while walking at night.

VERSATILE EDC

I have over a dozen different flashlights. This is my favorite if I could only have one. Good size. At 1000 lumens very bright. The handy button on the top easily cycles thru 3 brightness settings. It comes with a USB C rechargeable battery but will also use 2 AA batteries. Very versatile.
