Works well with the hairbrella swim cap.
Wow, okay this actually worked. I paired this under my hairbrella swim caps and it kept out about 98% of the water. only a small amount of my hair ends got a little moist. My scalp and strands from front to back and side to side was dry. I love this!

Great once you get the hang of it!
I definitely notice a difference with how dry my hair stays when I wear this. It’s not going to keep your hair 100% dry — the back of my hair gets wet around my neck when I wear it in a top bun under my swim cap, probably only about 2 inches worth. But it never has crept up higher on my hair, so it keeps my head about 80% dry. Also a great cover for my ears, too. Definitely takes some experimenting to get the right fit!

Keeps Hair Dry with Modifications
I have medium length wavy hair and swim daily. I have tried many swim caps to keep my hair dry!! While no swim cap is capable of keeping hair 100% dry, here is the routine and products that I have found to keep my hair 85% dry. The 2nd photo is of my hair is right after swimming breastroke and freestyle laps doing flip turns, swimming underwater to 12 feet deep, and floating on my back. Only the back and edges above my ears are slightly damp.TYR Long Hair Swim CapSync Hair Guard & Ear Guard HeadbandSpeedo Vanquisher 2.0 Swim GogglesCut strip of an exercise resistance bandI put my hair up in a high bun that sits right behind my forehead. Then I flip my head upside down and put the TYR cap on with the letters in the front. I ensure that the cap is fully over my ears and hair. Next, I put the Sync hair guard over the TYR cap with the words right side up in the front. I make sure it overlaps the swim cap by about a cm on all sides. Finally, I tie the resistance band strip like a headband over both, making sure it is tied under my ears. The goggles go over everything. Since this pair is small they seal even though the cap is close to my eyes. After swimming I rub a half teaspoon of ascorbic acid powder between my hands and over the wet parts of my hair to neutralize the chlorine instead of getting my hair more wet by rising. This is the active ingredient in expensive swim products, but much cheaper to buy on it's own. I then apply leave in conditioner to the damp areas.

Does not help keep hair dry.
I tried this because someone in the swimming subreddit claimed it keeps her hair dry. But, like many other reviewers, it did not work at all: there was no difference in how wet my hair got, or how quickly it got wet.Update: It also does not keep water out of ears, it kind of made it worse by holding the water close to my ears.

swimming headband...
I gave this a three instead of a five cuz it is soooooooooooo tight on my head that it hurts to wear. If only they came in different sizes. Heads are not that different but when they make them so incredibly tight on your head, you get a headache wearing it. My two friends at the Y have these also and agree that they are too tight for them also. Too bad. I feel it was a waste of money.

Great for keeping hair partially dry
This worked to keep my daughter’s very long hair 75% dry, so that she could go to summer camps after swim lessons without soaking wet hair.

Sort of works...
I loved the idea of a headband that would make my swimcap (mostly) waterproofed - but wow, it is tricky. I suppose that if I didn't move around and do laps, this band might work. However, after a few laps and moving my head normally, the seal breaks and my hair is wet. The idea is great but it just doesn't practically work like I would like. Also it is snug on the head so can cause a bit of a headache. I did read from other reviews that people had luck with it and so I gave it many chances just in case - but every time, a good deal of my hair got wet. Oh! It is good for keeping water out of your ears! My hair always got wet but I the band kept the water out of my ears! So that is a plus.

Keeps the water out of my ears
I put it on first, then my Speedo swim cap, then my goggles. Worked great with no need for ear plugs. However, when I put goggles on first, then the band and swim cap, my goggles leaked. If you have an ear disease, you would still need to put something in your ears. Sometimes when I swim, a drop or 2 of water get in, and sometimes my ears are totally dry. You have to fiddle a bit at first to get the best fit. Too low and it puts too much pressure on my head. Too high and it doesn't cover my ears. Just right is easy once you know how.
