Hardwood Fly Fishing Set: Rubber Mesh Net, Magnetic Release

Look no further..you won't find better, no matter what the name brand on your net says.
I fish the Arkansas tailwaters for trout, and you have to be ready for a trophy fish at any time. At first, I thought it too large at first but as I watched others trying to net fish with smaller nets I realized it was an absolute necessity. It is much better on the fish health-wise than other types of nets. The wood is sturdy, hard, and well finished. The lanyard hooks up by a magnet attached to the back of your vest with a magnet, and a magnet also attached to the base of the net. I have never had it accidentally release. The magnet is quite strong. The lanyard is plenty long enough to work with when reaching out for a fish but being a coiled one, it has never gotten in the way nor have I hung a single fly or my line in it. It is simply trouble free. The biggest question is..how do you reattach it after you use it? Because the attachment point is behind your neck and hard to reach! HOWEVER..no PROBLEM! All you have to do is get it close and the magnets snap themselves together.. "CLICK!" Ready to go! It is heavier than the cheaper, smaller ones. This is a problem for ME, as my shoulders start to get sore from the wieght of the vest and the drag from behind. But this isn't a problem with the product in my opinion. I could hang it from other places, and I already have a problem with my shoulders. I can tell you that the extra 10 bucks for the magnetic release is absolutely worth it. These types of magnets would cost the manufacturer a pretty penny due to the strength of them. Probably neodymium. And on top of all that, you can scoff at lesser fishermen for their nets because this is top of the line! :) I expect many, many good years out of this. I did note someone posted a magnet fell out on them and the company replaced it no problem. I will probably modify mine with some sealant to prevent that, though I don't really anticipate this happening to anyone regularly. If you are looking for a net, THIS IS THE ONE..and ADD the magnet option. You can check my review history and see I am NOT a bought reviewer. I paid full price for the item.

A bit too small for the fish we were catching in June.
In the Uinta mountains the river fishing was outstanding this past June. This net is a bit small and not deep enough for some of the fish we were catching. Some got away that should have been "in the net." However, I was releasing them anyway, so no big deal. That said, if you were netting a fish for a friend (much less to eat), it would be more disappointing. The net is nicely finished, lightweight and easy to handle. Just needs to be a bit deeper."Stretch", which I rated at 1 is not really an issue for a fishing net, don't know why they selected it as a criteria.

Fantastic Product / Great Value!
This is a fantastic product for an incredible value. Don't get caught up thinking you need to purchase a high priced net, This is perfect, especially if you are new to fly fishing and building out your gear. The rubber mesh does not snag like nets made with woven materials. The magnetic release operates beautifully! I attached the net to the D-Ring on the back of my vest located on my back between my shoulders with the head of the net hanging down. When needed I can just reach behind my waist, grab the head, slight pull, and the net is in my hand ready for use. No reaching up and over my shoulders needed. When ready to stow, exact same motion, just grab the head of the net with left hand, bring the net around to you back at the waist, handle pointing up between the shoulder blades... and the magnetic clasp finds it's home and latches. It is wonderful! I highly recommend this product... you will not be dissatisfied.

Great net & release system plus EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE
If your looking for a lightweight, well made, attractive, easy to manage Trout Net then look no further .. This net is so well made & easy to use on the river .. It's lightweight design doesn't become a burden when spending a long day fishing while wading the river .. It's magnetic release system is perfect for keeping it in place and out of your way until you need it .. Its magnetic is very strong and attaches itself easily once they get somewhat close together .. Therefore making it very easy and convenient to use no matter where you attach it .. The rubber mesh simply disappears in the water therefore reducing the chances of spooking the fish and also prevents your fly from getting tangled up in the webbing .. I highly recommend this Fly Fishing Net if you're in the market for one.Note: When I received this net it was missing its Carabine and therefore rendered it unable to attach it to my D-ring ... I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it to Amazon and reordering another one so I simply reached out to the seller and they immediately responded and apologized for the inconvenience and shipped me not only the missing Carabine but the Complete Magnetic Release System as well ... Exceptional Customer Service!!

Nice Net at a Great Value
The overall quality of this net is quite good. In viewing the listing I was at first a bit concerned about the size of the holes at the bottom portion of the net being too large. They are not very large at all and will certainly hold any fish that you're likely to catch. The netting is very soft/flexible and will minimize any harm to the fish. The magnetic holder is incredibly strong and just placing the butt end of the net within a few inches of the holder will snap it in place. It is very lightweight and I can barely can tell that its attached to my vest. You can spend a lot more money for other fly fishing nets but I'm not sure you can find any better value.
