Sped up drilling and tapping
Works great for mild steel. 1/8”-1/4” Not sure how it would work on anything else or any thicker. I used it to make about 25 holes an tapped for eyebolts without an issue

Drill tap.
Worked great. Used it to tap for 4 bolts in my trucks frame. Was sure it would break. But did a flawless job and still in good condition. Great for the money.

Works!
I wasn't too sure how well these would work, but I need to tap 12 holes in 1/4 steel pipe and decided to try this bit instead of my old tap set. I was pleasantly surprised how well they worked. I did drill a very small pilot hole because I needed the threaded holes to be in precise locations. The pilot holes were 1/16" and the final tapped hole was 3/8". I think one of the keys may be the drill. I first tried with a cordless drill and had zero luck. So I got out my 3/8" Milwaukee corded drill and this made a huge difference. I would say that after the pilot holes were drilled, I drilled the 12 tapped holes in less than 15 minutes. I completed all 12 without breaking the tapping bit and it is still in good condition. It does require some care in reversing the bit back out of the hole once it is completed. I gave it four stars only because it does takes some care and the appropriate drill to make these work. However, the bit saved me a lot of time and I intend to use them more.

Breaks easily
Needed to drill and tap 16 3/8 holes in 3/16 aluminum. Ordered two Dewalt 3/8 drill/tap bits at just over $15 ea. Using a variable speed drill motor on low speed, I drilled 3 holes, no problem. On the 4th hole, the bit broke at the narrow shank just above the drill chuck. Got the other bit out and it broke in the same place as the first one, on its second hole. Ended up tapping the remainder holes by hand. So, a good idea, but seems to be lacking in strength. Probably would've broken immediately if I had been working with steel. Returned the broken pieces to Amazon for a refund.
