I had read this was frequently returned by customers. I had a very heavy case for years for my 2016 Tab A SMT580 and was tired of holding it up after the handle/stand broke.Someone said it was difficult to get the case to slide into the slot for it. I had no trouble with that at all. I have removed it once since putting it in the case and it was easy to take out and put it back in.I like that it turns off the tablet when I close the lid. I like the option of several angles for the tablet. Unfortunately, I tend to use it most at night when I'm laying down and balance it on pillows. That's not a product problem but if that would change your mind, I thought I'd mention it.I have had no problems using the touch screen or any of the buttons on the side of the tablet.The case itself is nice looking and solid. I suppose if you were carrying it and dropped it, it might open up on you. I have carried it around the house and it sits firm in my hands or on top of books, etc., when I do carry it.My chihuahua likes to wake me up by pawing on the case in the morning. It's not scarred. I purchased it April 12, 2024. I have been using it a lot since I received it.The Velcro closure (where the tablet is inserted) has to be pulled apart and then reapplied after the tablet is in the sleeve. It is a very tight fit for the flap and Velcro (a very good thing). I suggest making sure the tablet is inserted all the way in and to keep from pressing the Velcro until you have also made sure it is well within the sleeve so it holds the tablet most securely. Before you press it down, roll the flap well into the space between it and the case for optimal security of the tablet.I have made notations on the photos - it's taken me a while to get the photos taken and finished. I think a couple have info I forgot to type up here. I really like this case and wouldn't have taken the time to do all this if I didn't. Unfortunately, the tablet is a 2016 model and I have to leave the charger plugged in because the little tongue inside the charger got bent. Not to mention the fact that a 2016 model doesn't take well to updates. But, I use it for very specific things. IF I end up replacing the tablet, wishful thinking?, I hope I get one which fits in this case.I hope this information helps you in your decision about this case.My tablet has an adhesive glass shield on it - it's gotten pretty scarred up over the years. It's 'no reflection' on the case. I probably should replace it with the extra glass shield I have.

I ordered this case based on reviews. I am pleased with the quality, but I would say that my one reason for an overall rating of four is that the directions for placing the tablet into the case and securing it were unclear to me. I knew I wasn't doing something right and so I sent an email to the seller for support. I never heard anything back. I eventually figured it out on my own and made the necessary correction. However, I came close to returning it until I figured out the problem. I will admit that my tablet doesn't fit in as evenly as I would like, but I plan on keeping it.12/24/18. Update: This process has been a huge hassle. When I first bought the case, I had issues with the fit. As I previously mentioned, I contacted the company and didn't hear anything. When they reached out to me with the usual check-in to see if I was satisfied, it began a lengthy dialogue which resulted in me ordering a replacement. I was told that I would receive a refund and that I wouldn't have to send the first cover back. Neither of those promises was followed through on.Now I have two covers and I am returning them both. What a waste of time!!1/7/19 - Final update. This process has been quite an odyssey! After returning the two covers and trying other styles, I decided that for all of the previous hassles, this cover was a better choice for both quality and security of my tablet. Of the three covers I tried, this final one fits the best and it doesn't block my screen like other reviews stated. I am a happy and satisfied customer. I just had to look around and try other options to truly appreciate this cover. It was worth the effort! Plus I love the pattern I ordered on this last go-round 😀

Bought this one after having bought two of the other magnetic cases where the tablet snaps into a plastic shell. The first had been plucked apart by a cat that preferred it to his scratching post. The second we had used until it wasn't properly closing and prompting the tablet to sleep at all. But in both cases there was a problem where the magnets in the plastic part of the case and eventually those on the edge of the cover simply fell out. If you can find the ones from the plastic piece before they're lost it's pretty easy to superglue them right back in, but once the ones in the outer shell fall out there's little you can do. We're hoping this one won't have that problem and it doesn't look like it will. All of the magnets are completely encased and sewn into the body of the case, as long as the case itself stays together it should function just fine. If anything changes with that we'll update the post here.Also the fit and finish is very nice. Personally we had no problems getting the tablet to fit without covering up any of the screen. We slid it into the case as far and as snuggly as possible before tucking the velcro table under and making sure it too was as snug as possible before pressing down. The screen is completely visible, everything lines up. It's a bit thicker than the previous case, but if anything it's actually nicer because of it. The stand mode is much more straight forward than the other case, no need to origami it, just pick a line and set it down.
