I've never played regular Risk, so I don't know how different it is, but this game is impressive. An unbelievable amount of thought went into making it, and if anything maybe a touch too complicated, but it's a really cool game. It's not a game you want to play if you only have and hour or so. This game could easily take 3 hours. A good rainy day game

This version is the complete game, not to be confused with an earlier release that only covered the first two movies/books. If you like Risk and LOTR it's a good choice with some added dynamics based on the LOTR plot (ring-related rolling for bad guys to discover the ring, tolling for the good guys to advance the ring and eventually cast it into Mt. Doom). We already owned this game and play it periodically so this purchase was as a backup copy. We like it enough to not want to lose it.

I liked this judge not only because it brings me together to my family when we get together but because it is fun and I need real strategy

Great game !! Is lengthy but easy to learn. Size is great and details are great as well!!

I won’t play any other risk version ever again! It did take a bit of effort the first time to understand the game, but once you just get started and accept to learn it as you go, it becomes so fun!

The game combines Risk with some twists for the Lord of the Rings aspect. If you are familiar with Risk this game isn't too different. Your goal is to conquer middle earth before the ring makes it to Mt Doom. Likes: Easy to understand instructions. Conquering Middle Earth. Added Lord of the Rings action cards. These cards can give you extra actions during play. They have elements and pics from the movies. For example: there's an action card called "You Shall Not Pass". If you play this card you can block the enemy from attacking your territory via bridge for one turn. A similar scene from the movie. Dislikes: Not new. Mine was received with the box really damaged. I assumed from shipping. When I opened it the card packs were opened. The instruction book was creased and bent. The cards had wear to them. A few of the plastic men were broken. I've opted to keep it used rather than try to refund. Game was fun despite its condition. Game piece quality. Overall the quality is cheap. Several of the archer pieces had broken bows. The heads on the plastic pieces don't look like heads. I thought they looked like they had dinosaur heads. The heads are wierd shaped blobs with 2 holes for eyes. The game inside the box had a weird odor.

Love this LOTR Risk!! Very fun and sooo cool!! Only thing is, play when your have around 4 hours to spare. 😆

It is a long play game, very strategic. But you cannplay regular Risk, or LOTR Risk on the one board. Quality of the pieces is great, but the ring is a blackened, unlike it is in the movie.
