Good solid mount.
I chose this mount for several reasons. A 3/8 dovetail mount is in my opinion is garbage to begin with, but unfortunately many rifles still come with it, manely 22's. Rings mounted directly to that type of mount are notorious for creaping and having a poor fit. This often leads to overtightening which leads to other problems and so-on. This mount eliminates all that by being a single solid mount and having 3 scews as oposed to 2 for sinching it down. 4 screws would be even better and definitely eliminate the need for the set screw, however I am not using the set screw because I don't want to drill a small hole for it on the rifles I'm using them on. I haven't had any creaping so far but using a little locktite in the grooves would solve that if I did.. Also if you don't intend to be removing the scope there is no need to buy an adaptor base and rings separately and spend twice the money. You get this set up for about the price of a set of rings. It mounts your scope solid and looks good too. I have 2 of these allready and bought this one for my picky brother who likes the way they look on my guns.

Don't buy
I purchased this mount and the scope stop messed up the top of my gun. The tolerances are off and the mount will not mount tight enough to a normal dove rail. You'd have to shim the screws with washers to ensure proper tightness. The scope stop screw tip is too narrow and the screw has loose tolerance (wobbled back and forth). BEWARE!!!

Sturdy
Very solid. I bought 2. I needed scope rings that will not budge on my break barrel spring airguns. I mounted them on an RWS Diana Model 34 and a Remington Summit. The 34 has a scope recoil stop on the scope rail already so I didn't use the included Stop Pin. It didn't line up with any of the holes in the 34 scope rail anyway. I used the Stop Pin feature on the Remington Summit but didn't use the Stop Pin included. It looked too thin. I was concerned that recoil would caused the thin pin to damage the hole in the scope rail or snap off the pin so I made my own. I cut a hardened allen head screw to the same length as the Stop Pin and then used a Dremel cut off wheel to make a screwdriver slot in the cut off screw. The fabricated Stop Pin fills the hole in the scope rail and there's no chance of the scope mount from moving. Use Loctite blue in the scope rail grooves and on the scope mount screws. I haven't tried it but I'll bet with Loctite blue in the grooves alone these mounts will hold position without additional scope mount stops. I like that extra screws are included because if you do a lot of scope changes the screws can get damaged. Except for the too small Stop Pins these are good scope mounts for hard recoil air rifles.

Almost the best
This mount has a lot going for it. It is well crafted, a good clean, sturdy and useful design, has massive, strong over-sized screws for mounting to the rifle and a good, friction-taped set of scope cradles for safe mounting of your treasured scope into. The only flaw, and it IS a flaw, is that the scope stop screw, instead of having a well crafted tubular shaft to fit into the rifle's furnished scope stop hole, has a damaging pointed end to it that is only marginal to the efficiency of stopping scope creep. The reason I call it damaging is that it has failed to properly do it's job on 2 rifles I have owned and crept out of the stop hole enough to dig a chunk out of the rifles stop hole and damage the rifle enough that I have had to resort to professional help in restoring the rifle's stop hole enough to be able to use a proper tubular shafted stop pin. This is the only reason that this mount did not get a 5 star rating. There are better stop pins out there that will fit this mount and you would do well to get one if you are to use this mount and throw the furnished pointed one far, far away. Other mounts of the same basic design even come with stop pins with 2 different sized tubular ends to be able to fit any sized hole provided in your rifle.

Replacement For Cheasey Dovetail Mounts
I used this scope mount to put a Tasco 3x9x40 Bucksight ( yes Haters I know it's a inexpensive scope but I'm not going to put on one that exceeds the cost of the rifle and it beats the snot out of the 4x32 oem scope) on a Rugger Air Hawk (NTH: yes the rifle is inexpensive too but it has been one of the best cheap forms of fun for the money I have ever spent). The casting, machining were very good, bluing was so-so,( the stop screw in this one was blunt and not pointed and the scope cradle was not taped as reported in the other review ) without the taping/non skid in the cradle (as was pictured) you do get scope creep, found this out when trying to sight in scope. So now to take apart again and find a remedy. This was almost a 5 star purchase and for 12 dollars I can't gripe too loud. ( the NTH is my acronym for Note To Haters) I'll get back to you when I fix the issue.
