PetSafe Sliding Glass Pet Door Security Bar, Human Doors Up to 72 in Wide

This pet safe sliding glass door security bar was exactly what we needed. I installed a doggy door on one of our sliding class doors. With that doggy door, there wasn't a way for us to lock the sliding glass door. I instaled this security bar as well as another locking mechanize. PROS: This security bar was very easy to install. I like how we can lift it off and it hangs there conveniently. I like the strength of the security bar as it is pretty thick. It really works great. The bar is adaptable and you can shorten it or make it longer for your custom needs. CONS: Not much to be honest. Seems great to me. Overall, I happy with it. 5/5. would order again if I needed to.

We have a Petsafe dog door and were using a foot/pin locking mechanism but it we were having frequent trouble locking and unlocking. Installation was a breeze and it seals the door closed very tightly. Easy to open and close/lock, and much easier for my wife and son than the previous locking mechanism.

This security bar does exactly what it’s supposed to. It’s easy to adjust to fit different sliding doors, and it feels solid once in place. Gives peace of mind knowing your sliding door can’t be forced open while still allowing the pet door to function normally. Installation is straightforward, and the materials feel durable. A simple, effective solution for added security.

Was not sure what to do about dog door. When I only have sliders in back. Took a chance on this. Did not work for my vinyl doors, which have a concave directly over the track divider. I was able to modify to make it work. Bought different brackets, weather strip for where the door meets the insert, and a bar lock. Now works perfectly. I feel secure enough. Dog comes and goes all day. I am 63, 4'11'. Completed alone. Not easy but, worth it.

This product is not as good as it looks. After installation about 20 days the only piece that holds the bar on broke. This piece should be made of metal, not plastic!! This is the second time this product has broken and there are no replacement parts available.

The PetSafe Sliding Glass Pet Door Security Bar does what it’s designed to do and provides some added security for a sliding glass door with a pet door installed. Once in place, it feels reasonably sturdy and gives some peace of mind that the door can’t simply be opened from the outside. However, the installation and adjustment could be easier. Getting the bar positioned correctly took some trial and error, and the fit wasn’t quite as straightforward as I expected. The overall construction also feels a little less substantial than I anticipated for the price. It’s a useful accessory if you need additional security for a sliding glass door, but I think the design and installation could be improved. Overall, it works, but there are some areas where PetSafe could make it better.

This safety bar is perfect for use on our double doors. Easy to install.
