Gardena18600 50 Foot Wall Mounted Retractable Hose Reel, 50 ft, Standard, Turquoise

These Gardena 18600 retractable hose reels have improved my home life tremendously! I was frustrated having to clamber through our admittedly poorly designed garden beds to get the the spigot, invariabley trampling something either underfoot or as I dragged the hose to and fro. Now, with the Gardena reel, I leave the spigot open and have the reel conveniently located where I can grab the hose without having to cross the bed to get the the spigot, and all it takes is a one-handed twist of the included nozzle and I’m in business, watering. No more do I have to drag a cart or try to wind a hose reel manually, bent over in the bed; just a short tug and the reel picks up the hose neatly.Honestly, this is the best money I’ve spent on anything for yard work…it makes using the hose as close to a no-brainer as I can imagine, and looks tidy and modern.Be aware it is a smaller gauge hose than those of us in the USA are accustomed to. It flows a pretty good volume, but it’s not as much as the standard hose size. I do not find it a problem for my water needs at allI have both the wall mount Gardena unit, and three of the post mounts, covering each side of the house. I like the post mounts for their locating flexibility, but both types work equally well.The units include lead hose and connectors (for several— or every— common hose/bib size) and a spray nozzle, so everything needed to put the units to use. The quick connectors are great because they shut off the water when you want to, say, change the nozzle to a sprinkler. Smart design.I did get a couple of replacement lead hoses for greater length to place the units where I wanted them and to have it discreetly on the ground; one is even buried under mulch. In one of my included pics, you can see the lead hose is suspended in the air, and not good looking, so take care to check your post distance and avoid that!So yes, a glowing endorsement for the Gardena 18600!

Around 45-50 feet this unit is well made, works effectively and is aesthetically pleasing. There is a reason it is slightly more expensive than the others. This is made in Germany and the engineering of it is strong. It was also very easy to install. I drilled the holes into horizontal siding and it was straightforward. The cord management is great as it retracts whether or not there is water flowing. The major advantage of this system is that Gardena has a great attachment system with a pull snap mechanism for the nozzle.One downside is that the provided water spout is a little difficult to use with one hand. In fact, you have to use two hands to spray and it’s only one option. I bought the additional spray nozzle and replaced the provided one. But it was all well worth the effort and money.

A bit tricky to mount to a brick wall. The anchors supplied work but the instructions say drill a 1/2 inch hole for anchors using a concrete drill / but the anchors supplied are 3/8. Once you drill the correct holes it works ok. I found the anchors need to be slightly expanded before you tap them in place or they won’t hold while tightening and expanding them to mount the unit securely to the wall

Great product for light and medium use. If need heavy duty go with Flexzilla. This one could be used on the deck and gardening.

Easy to install, looks so nice and neat. As long as you pull the hose out nice and easy and slowly let it retract, It should last a very long time. Very happy with my purchase

Model 18600 & 18620 are the latest version, Made in Europe Sweden, 5 years warranty. Very Easy install, make sure top two screws are secured. All hose connections are convenience plug in and lock. Hose diameter is small, light weight but its keep water pressure strong.Update: package stock 2.5 inches screws are too short for wood siding wall, use 5 inches GRK galvanized lag screws to secure into wood studs.

This hose is incredible. From the handling of and preciseness of the locking mechanism to the managing of the waterflow. One tug on the hose and it automatically starts to retract. Well worth the money.
