Well-Trained Mind Press Story of the World, Vol. 3 Revised Edition: History for the Classical Child: Early Modern Times

Concise but well-written and easy to read aloud, this series covers my homeschooling needs for history lessons. I really enjoy reading these myself which helps immensely when you’re reading it to your kids. These books get me excited about history, have me learning something new every week and help me to bring history down to a level that even my 6 year old can understand and follow along with. Another huge plus is that the writer has tried to give an unbiasedview of overall world history. I have found that, growing up, we’re fed a view of history that is heavily influenced by where we are growing up, as though that is the only history that should be important to us. I respect and admire that Bauer has written the story of the WORLD, not just our corner of the planet with life as we see it. There is so much more to know and learn. I love that the 4 book series should be able to get us through 3 rotations in 12 school years to help all our kids have a good grasp of chronological world history. Highly recommend!

I am a home schooling mom and my son loves this series. I have learned so much from these volumes, we have both the e-books as well and listen to them as a drama series. These books are both educative and entertaining.

Loves this series of book- we used it the year I homeschooled my daughter- 2 years last she still refers back things she learned from it. It was easy to teach her from the book- I know it looks kind of dry and like a kid might not want to dive into it, but she always wanted to study history and would often read ahead. It does a great job of opening your eyes and describing things from the past.

Both the kids and I love reading these books! Highly recommend.

We absolutely love this series. It is so interesting for kids and really keeps their attention. As an adult I also love it! This came in great condition too.
