Swanson 1000' Detectable Tape Blue "Caution: Buried Water LINE Below"

There appears to be the full 1000’. Just as reliable as typical marking tape, which is always hit or miss. Tracer wire is still better.

When trenching / burying pipe,be sure to at least backfill with sand touching the pipe and if you can't backfill the whole trench with sand do rhat. I always put sand 8 or 12 in below the surface with this marking tape and make sure everybody knows if you ever hit sand you're fixing to hit buried plumbing

It is as advertised. Metal detector picks it up and will be very obvious if evwr dug up. Buried it half the depth of the water line. Only problem is that now I have 900ft left over. Guess I need to put in another couple buried water lines....

Worked great, a lot more effective and a lot less expensive than running copper wire in the ground for locating my buried PVC water lines. You can also lay the roll down while you’re rolling it out and it doesn’t come all unrolled like I was afraid would happen. Easy to cut, yet not so cheap that it tears easily.

Seems to be nice, hopefully this will keep any future homeowners from hitting the mains I worked so hard to put in.

I used this to mark a drainage line I had to replace in my yard. (not quite its intended purpose). I haven't tried to find it again but for the cost of the roll, I figured it was worth it. It unrolled easily and is far more than I needed, but nice to have it.

I recently put in a 150' water line and used this to mark the location. The tape works great and didn't break when the backfill was placed over it.
