Green Hills The Japan Shop Read Japanese Bundle - Book, Notebook, and Hiragana Shitajiki Set

I just received my bundle from the Japan Shop, and I'm very pleased. The notebook is of good quality and should be very useful for practicing kana and kanji. The Kana chart is printed on a heavy plastic sheet - very durable and clear. But best of all is the collection of short stories - Hikoichi.Each story is presented three ways. The stories can be read in English first for those first starting out in nihongo, they can be read in kana and kanji for those proficient, or they can be read in kana and kanji with very good notes in english at the bottom of the page. Another thing I especially like is the large print (for my aging eyes!).

Came on time and just what I needed the material is simple and easy to understand,I like it.

- I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review-This bundle is a must if you are learning Japanese. The Kana shitajiki is very helpful and detailed, it gives the number and order of strokes to write each kana character. It covers both hiragana and katakana. The Japanese character notebook is great in this bundle since you are able to practice writing kana and kanji right away. There are four stories inside the notebook which is really cool, kanji is used in the stories but it has furigana to help readers. Finally the Japanese reader collection "Hikoichi" is awesome. There are four stories and you have option of reading the story in either Japanese with a glossary and references on the bottom of the page, in Japanese without the glossary on the bottom, or in English. Each story is presented in that order and allows the reader to chose the best option. The version with the glossary and references at the bottom is the most helpful since it explains vocabulary and expressions. There is also a vocabulary section at the end of the book which combines all four stories. This bundle is great for beginners, upper beginners, and anyone learning Japanese in my opinion.

Awesome collection as usual from the Japan Shop. Have been using the reader to help prepare me for the JLPT Level 5 test.
