Love this collar, strong, lightweight, so easy to read the name/number on the collar, just so nice!

It’s nice for what it is. Looks good. Works well. Sized right. Print is very readable. My dissatisfaction with this is my own fault. I didn’t read the description well enough.We have a non-printed martingale for our dog and I guess I just assumed that this martingale would work the the same way, and have a plastic quick release clasp to make the removal quick and easy. It does not. To put it on and take it off you must loosen and tighten the collar each time to get it over the dogs ears as you side it over it’s head.Is that a big deal? No. As I said, it works well. It’s just not as convenient as I’d like it to be, and also as I said, that’s on me not the product. It came as advertised. So if you were expecting something with a quick release, look elsewhere. But if you don’t mind adjusting the collar each time, this could be a great product for you.

The loop is too big and there is no breakaway. DO NOT LEAVE your dogs in this collar without immediate suppervision. This is, thank goodness, a happy story. It could have and would have ended much differently... I have two border collies who are approaching their first birthday. They both have these (or had these) beautifully woven martingale type collars first as puppies and then as adults. NEVER AGAIN. I was less than 20 feet away in the next room when I heard awful screaming of terrified dog. I found one dog with his whole chin and bottom jaw caught in the other dogs collar twisting and turning to try to get free. While the boy was twisting and turning the girl was having her airway cut off. There is no way they could have untangled themselves without help. My partner ran for scissors while I held them still as much as I could. I could barely get a finger under to get the scissors in to cut it off. I’m ordering new collars with a breakaway for when unsupervised and will never look at ANY collar the same way again.

Our 9 week old 8lb pup gets her front paw caught in the loop part CONSTANTLY. The loop cinching/martingale part is clearly too large for the size the collar would be used when getting a small. The rest of the product seems fine, but not designed well for a puppy. UPDATED****here we are 9 mos. later and she fits it well and it has held up nicely! I need to order another in M since she is about 45 pds now and when on the loosest setting it is SUPER sinched on her neck when the martingale engages, to the point I can't get my 2 fingers in. Be aware, if you like to take the dogs collar off every day, there is no clasp. But you can slide over theit heads if you have a willing pup. I got the red/pink last time, and you can see the small on my 9 mo old standard golden doodle (she is on the smaller side and is around 45 pds at 9 mos).

I sent them my photos and they are editing the layout so that my dog's name and number will appear stacked instead of side by side, so I'll be able to read her entire name and the numbers easily! THANK YOU SO MUCH, and again, these are awesome colors and quick turnaround.Initial review: 11/2020: Colors are great, shipping was fast. Overall, a good collar. What I'm really disappointed in is the placement of the print. My dog's name is Sadie Rose. The "S" starts underneath the collar and the "A" is barely visible, so when I look down what I see is "DIE ROSE" ... Does anybody quality check these things?! Why wouldn't you set the name to start after the part of the fabric that wraps around the metal ring? Surely that is something that can be set.

I love supporting American products and there's a lot to like about these. However, I don't think I'd purchase these collars a second time for two big reasons, both mentioned by other commenters. 1 there's no quick release, which honestly I don't see any custom martingale collars with them on Amazon, but we can't use these for doggie daycare for example because they require quick releases. 2 The text placement seems suboptimal overall. It doesn't seem hard to know that a certain amount of the strap will be sewn down and move the text so it starts after the stitches, and that's the sort of attention to detail I want to see in American shops.If these two things were addressed in a product revision, from what I see I'd buy again, and happily pay more for the quality and safety features in a domestic product.

Just a heads up! This personalized martingale collar does not come with a quick release feature, and the buckle shown is for size adjustment only. This collar must be slipped over the pet's head to put it on. There are several alternate options on Amazon for personalized martingales with the quick attach feature. They're much more user friendly and safer! My opinion, but I feel the "slip on" aspect should be pointed out more clearly in HD's add. BTW... when I emailed HD thru Amazon to get feedback, I did not get a reply, and when I called their customer service a few days later, I was on hold for 10-15 minutes before an automated message came on and said they were busy.....then they hung up!!! Not a good experience with HD (Hot Dog)overall!

We have personalized martingale collars on all 7 of our dogs and in a pinch, they can save your dog and get him home to you. 6 of our dogs are big and I recently rescued a smallish rat terrier mix of only 30lbs, however our usual source for collars just didn't have any small enough for Mighty Mouse, so I tried these.The blue is bright and cheerful and easy to see against Mighty Mouse's ebony coat. The collar is half the width of the big dogs' collars so it fits him perfectly and proportionately. The martingale mechanism works correctly without sticking. The printing was exactly right with his name and my phone number and it's very easy to read. I'll definitely consider these again in the future.
