Never got a filter with mine and wouldn't work for my vw

Will it fit a vw type 4 engine? It requires a 2-4 psi max and the answers i find here are between 3 to 7.

It DOES work! Anthony may have got the wrong product? He responded to me with incorrect info, too. This Carter pump with filter is factory set at 2.8psi but I don’t think it pushes any harder than 5psi?. I also installed a pressure gauge and proved the factory set was perfect! Read my review in these reviews and see pics. You should also install a fuel regulator to keep a constant psi. But, in response to another response, it works perfectly after 2 years now and I’ve purchased 2, 1 for backup but it’s sitting in the boot.

What size in inches are the inlet/outlet. Does this pump come with the filter?

The P90091 pump has a 3/8" inlet barb, and a 5/16 outlet barb. While a pre-filter should be used, a different pre-filter is an option. The connecting hose between the pump inlet barb and the included filter outlet barb is a 3/8" hose. The included fuel filter inlet barb is also 3/8".

How do you determine 2.5 or 7 psi

This pump does not exceed 3psi and is designed for 4 and 6 cylinder engines with a carburetor. To determine what pressure you require look up the specs for your original mechanical or electric fuel pump. The only way to determine actual fuel pressure is with pressure gage.
