What a great theft deterrent device for under $20! AND it has an alarm that is LOUD! It may not be rechargeable, but you CAN replace the battery. This is why it came with that little Allen wrench! I was wondering.........had to come back to the product page and try to figure it out. My LECTRIC E-Bike now has FOUR locks! Where I live, there are NO bike racks to lock to. So I got a U-lock, a cable that goes with it, and the folding lock that came with the bike. Now, I have this fourth lock, a type of lock I never even knew existed until I went looking, and I feel a lot more confident now about leaving my $$$$$ bike outside the store. That monster is HEAVY! It's like a freakin' motorcycle! And now, I feel a lot safer, and freer! Lock is very easy to use; remove the little white rubbery cushion, throw it out. Remove the Allen wrench, it was stuck into the cushion. ;-) Keep it. Simply insert key to unlock and when you see it is unlocked, clip it onto your disc brake, and push the same silver button (where the key fits) down; it IS the locking part. You'll heart it beep twice. Any movement after that, and it's going to set that loud alarm off! To stop the alarm, you have to use the key to unlock it, or wait it out 30 LONG ear blasting seconds! I love that I got the red one, so it can be seen, a visual deterrent! It functions so easily, I love this style of lock! It comes in other colors too, yellow, for instance, highly visible, and says to a bike thief, "BACK OFF!" Its appearance is as you'd expect; Fits into the palm of your hand, or into the little velcro pouch it came with. I cinched mine up near the handlebars. Also, it comes with a long cord, so you can attach one end to the lock and the other end to your handlebar, so you don't forget to unlock it,, and try to drive off, and wreck your wheels. Be safe, wear a helmet!

A group of cockroaches tried to steal my bike and because of this cheap $20 thingy it was left. They actually broke the ignition cylinder and turned on the bike. As you can see in the pictures they hammered away and couldn’t get it off. This strong sensitive alarm is worth more than this. Comes with a storage pouch that can be used while mobile, It’s easy to install, and secured my boobie! It has a loud and super sensitive alarm (which can be annoying on rainy and or windy days). Nice product, work well on my dual sport and dirt bike, but it won't fit my street bike. My disc is less than 7mm, but it still won't fit. Seller says it will fit discs up to 7mm thick.

For me, this kind of lock isn't a fast action to lock my bike, if you have knee or back problems, you will be on the ground for a while trying to line up a hole with the lock and then securing it. When I'm out and about, if I want to leave in a hurry, the process of locking and unlocking are too difficult for me, it seems like a good lock, but in this day and age, speed is a preference with my security.
