Got this to replace another window insert that wasn't working very well. This one is much nicer. Sturdier, easier to install and use. Stays in the window pretty well, too. Thought that I was going to have to buy another air conditioner, but this gives it a new lease on life.

It works

This works like we wanted it to.

I had a small, very awkward window that was my only option for venting a basement dryer. Yes, it's intended for an air conditioning unit but it can easily be adjusted to work for a dryer as well. There are only two drawbacks for this item, one is that they are intended for a 5-inch hose that has grooves where you can screw the threads to lock it in place. I used a 4" to 5" adapter BUT had to shave a tiny bit from the cut-out circle to get the adapter piece to fit as it doesn't have threads (which would have made it slightly smaller than the cutout and therefore a perfect fit). Two, it says the range is 16.5" to 47", if you have a window larger than 16.5" but smaller than say 20" you WILL have to cut the second panel to avoid covering the cutout when you slid it into place. It was an easy fix with a hacksaw for a perfect fit. Overall, I have a very secure vent that is airtight and critter-proof.
