In principle this would have been perfect for compacting a mattress for storage. In reality the material is way too fragile to do the job. Leak after leak formed and the vacuum just didn’t hold and consequently the mattress didn’t remain compressed. Great idea, poor materials.

I got this so that I could vacuum pack an old single foam mattress ready for easy disposal, instead of having it flop around everywhere when stood up against a wall. The bag was really easy to unpackage and open up, I unfolded it, lined it up along the length of the mattress then just tipped it off the bedframe. It went in very easily and there was loads of room for a single, in fact I probably could have got two in there. The material is decently waterproof and provides the mattess with adequate protection once encased.The sealing mechanism is the same as commonly found, you use a little plastic clip to "zip" it closed, and then suck all the air out. Unfortunately the "zipper" did not do a great job of applying the necessary pressure and I had to squeeze all the way along myself. When I got to the end, the edges didn't quite match, resulting in a gape that I had to seal over with duct tape before vacuuming. Despite this it did hold well enough to allow me to roll it up and apply the ratchet straps, which are a pretty rainbow design but not the most robust, and it has slowly started loosening over a few days.Overall reasonable value for money considering some of the alternatives are twice the price, and does the job if you just need to transport it somewhere and are handy with a bit of tape. For longer term storage consider something a bit more premium.

Fitted 2 single memory foam mattresses in the bag and it sealed up great, it did take a while to suck the air out, but not surprising as it is a big bag, worked really well and the straps that come with it to wrap around it were good quality as well. Very good item!

It was hard to keep the air out so had to buy more straps but it holds if u do that

Bought this to store my spare single mattress in that we use for sleep overs!It was super easy to use.Only downside is the straps - could be a little longer! But it still did the job!

I've got two old foam mattresses I wanted to store in the loft while I renovated those rooms... Got two of these. First one failed almost instantly smashing it's cheap straps. Second one worked perfectly...Replaced broken one. New one also failed and won't hold a vacuum despite ensuring the seal is fully engaged all the way down. It's not expanded into a potential bomb! Going to have to open it before it explodes like the first one!ALSO on those seals... first one (that failed) sealed well but the other two didn't line up! Like one side was longer than another... I managed to curve the longer one over the other so it formed a kinda curve and that sealed but really badly made!So basically 2 out of 3 of the seals were faulty and a different two out of 3 had faults somewhere else so they couldn't hold vacuum! I assume holes in them! Not surprising as the plastic is stupid thin...

Used to make mattress smaller for transporting in small car. Easy to bag mattress up (with two people) vacuum used was a shark however a Henry would have also worked. Mattress used was an Emma premium, fit with room to spare. I may have ordered a size larger just in case. Easy to store for future use.
