The media could not be loaded. It is longer than it should be. I didnt measure it but it is at least 18'. My pool is 16' wide and this so long it creates an rather large arch in the water. 1 foot shorter would be about right in my opinion. I may cut one end off and use my old rope end which screws down or possibly look into what is involved in rebraiding the hook in place. Quality and construction seem good and solid.UPDATE:Changed my rating to 5 stars from 3. Shortening the rope is actually quite easy. There is a technique/knot that is called a long bury splice that takes 30 seconds.Pass a doubled over coat hanger up the center of the rope to the point you want the loop to bePut the hook on the tag endPlace the tag end through the coat hangerPull the tag end through the center of the rope with the coat hangerIf you have extra left over, cut it off and bury the end in the center of the rope.Its better to be too long than too short.

Great Product

These buoys are great for when you are having family or friends over with kids as everybody has a visual idea of the “safest” swimming limit. They are made of hard plastic which leads me to believe they’ll last a long time, specially as we only have them up when there are kids present. My pool is 20’ wide so the 20’ buoys fitted like a glove. Good purchase for the price.

I purchased this to put across my pool to separate shallow from deep end while I teach my 4 yo how to swim. I was hoping that it would provide some safety in case she found herself struggling. This was not the case. It provides zero support. I modified it, though, by disassembling and adding noodles. Disassembly was easy once you figure out how the rope is connected to end clips. There’s also a tool provided to help reassemble. The length was a little short initially, but after disassembling, I was able to extend to make it fit.
