Batik Palm Tree Cap Sleeve Caftan Dress/Cover Up

I am over 50 and don't like to show my arms, but I live in Texas so I need hot weather clothes. I grew up wearing floaty sundresses, but haven't for the last several years because only the sleeveless ones are made of cotton - and they show me "summer sweaters" or "shrugs" to wear with them. I have suggested where store buyers for Texas can stow their summer sweaters: California! Where it cools down at night!.Short story long, I discovered Sakkas last year and am absolutely thrilled. I wear sleeveless ones at home and to the beach / pool, and sleeved ones everywhere else. They have a shape, so you don't look like you're wearing a sack, and they swirl when you walk, so you feel pretty. I get compliments every time I wear one.They can be a bit thin, so I can wear only the darker-colored ones without a slip if I'm going somewhere nice. This red one is the most see-through one I wear in public. The drawbacks are: the embroidery can pull, so I recommend stitching any loose ends before you wear, or you can lose a whole area of stitching, and they aren't available with sleeves in more styles. But there are styles, I love them, and I can't recommend them strongly enough - if you don't live in my neighborhood so we don't look like twins!

I was afraid to order this dress, figuring it was probably junk at the price offered. But after reading the reviews decided to try it. Its beautiful! I am 5'2" and not exactly slim and have never worn this style of dress before so was afraid it would really make me look dumpy. Surprise! It is very flattering. The length is not quite to my ankles in the back, a little shorter in the front and even shorter at the sides so it doesn't look like a maxi dress. It flows over my figure and hides all the imperfections and actually makes me look thinner. I'm pretty busty and there's plenty of room, the arm holes are plenty big enough, in fact I'm going to take a small tuck under each arm to make it a little smaller so my bra and slip won't show.You will need to wear a slip underneath. I bought black so even though it's sheer it isn't extremely see-through.The flutter sleeves are very pretty and big enough for someone with big arms. I only gave it four stars because I haven't washed it yet. I don't know how it will hold up but I'm going to wash it in cold water on the delicate cycle and hang dry it.I love it so far. I'm over sixty and this dress is not too young looking. I think anyone of any age (or weight) could wear it.

I love Sakkas products. They are always exactly as pictured. One size fits all can be scary words and so it was nice to find that this dress came in 2 different "one size(s)." By choosing the one where I fell in the small size, I knew the dress would be very flowy on me which is just what I like. I've read some complaints about Sakkas clothing with loose threads, etc., and yeah, that might happen sometimes. But you know what, these are casual, hippie clothes and that's part of the charm. If the threads annoy you, pull them out. I've never had anything fell apart from doing so. Over the years, I've probably bought 10 or more Sakkas pieces - skirts, dresses & tops - and have yet to be disappointed. For the price, they're a great find!

Very pretty dress. I have several from this company. A hint to keep the dress nice longer is to set the color with vinegar and to wash the dress in a garment bag. This prevents the embroidery from unraveling. Hang to dry. They do bleed so wash separately or with like colors. They will hold up a long time if you treat the dress with care. The dress was delivered very quickly. I wear them around my house all the time and to pool parties. Unlike other reviews I did not feel that it added bulk to my body as the fabric is very light weight. I am 5'6" and the length is perfect. Maybe not so for shorter people. It would go from mid length to ankle length. I gave the dress a 4 star only because the material bleeds and has to have special care to keep it nice.

I have ordered several items from this company and had problems with all of them! I ordered one item 3 different times--one had a hole, one a black mark and the last one was much too small. This dress was the fourth item I have ordered, and it had what looked like stains on the back but was actually incomplete black dye. I love the look of the Sakkas line of clothing but I just can't justify ordering anything else from this company. They really need to work on getting better quality control.

I have purchased several Sakkas dresses and tops and absolutely love their products. I live on a barrier island 1 block from the beach so these dresses and tops are perfect for my lifestyle. I receive compliments all the time wherever I go. I just returned from Costa Rica and these are the only clothes I packed besides nightgowns. I also received many compliments there. I love Sakkas products.

I'm 5'1, and according to most homosapiens that means I'm short. I have the tiny bones to go along with my challenged height, which usually makes one size fits all, well, fit everyone but me. However, I am a preggo. I'm in my third trimester with twins, and not much fits. This dress allows me to be in loose flowing elegance without being frumpy or touting a mumu. The cloth blend is flowy, and sheer in some places. It will be great for warmer Spring Days, and Summer in insufferable climates (like Southern California). Would not recommend for cold weather without leggings and a tank for coldness issues. I don't think this would fit me as a size 0, and even now it hangs off my shoulder at times, but it will make great maternity. It's very versatile so you could pin it in or have it hemmed. Have a $20 dress hemmed? Sounds crazy right? But it looks like an expensive exotic buy. I get tons of compliment on it, and a guy even said "Did you get this in another country?". I love mine. I will probably buy two more. They're all hand made and beautiful. I recommend non short people or preggos to get one!

Here we have a stunningly pretty dress made from Rayon, which is actually created from wood pulp so although described as synthetic because of this, it actually is very natural. Light, doesn't crease, doesn't need ironing, dries quickly, holds it colour, has look and feel of soft gentle cotton and is just the best for hot weatherThe dress has a lacy cap sleeve, a great cut that flows down your body , this one comes mid calf and could be warn with harem pants, or tanned legs and strappy sandals and a pashmina. A must have wardrobe staple for your summer days or as a holiday evening outfit, with really classy touches like the embroidery effect around the hem and neck. I have bought 3 from Sakka now, and they are always adding new designs and selling out on others very quickly, so I will probably buy 2 in different colours when I fall in love with another of their dresses , so I don't miss out. I couldn't be more happy with their feminine versitility. Thank you Sakka, such lovely clothes at a truly reasonable price is an all rounder summer wardrobe dress

I'm a uk size 14, 5'7 and nine months pregnant and its still a tent :DI bought it deliberately to be oversized, I love baggy stuff and from the description it's not surprising it's very flowy - the thing that surprised me was the length. It's longer at the front and back than the sides but on me at five foot seven it goes down to almost ankle length front and back so it might be a little long on a petite person.Got lots of compliments though, it's a nice print and lovely comfy dress

Really nice dress just colour was darker than shown but that's OK received it very quickly within 24 hours brilliant fantastic for my holidays in Africa just ordered another one
