Upgraded old fountain with Solar!
My old fountain's pump stop working after 8 years, I decide to get a new pump and upgrade to solar power. I Tried different pumps that came with a solar panel, water flow was weak or stopped working after a few weeks. My friend recommended this pump kit to me and told me to connect a 10W 12V solar panel to it. It came with a fountain kit for those who are building a new fountain, itโs a nice touch since it has 4 nozzles which allows you to adjust the height and select the spray pattern. However, I have no use for it since I am upgrading my old fountain. Installation was pretty easy. The cable of the pump is very long, which allowed me to install the solar panel away from my little garden. At the end of the cable, there is a short extension cord that can be detached when you unscrew it, I connected the extension cord to the solar panel. (The connector is not designed for standard solar panel, but its clearly labeled with positive and negative tags.) After sunrise, the pump starts pumping the water to around 1-2 feet high and is around 3-4 feet high by noon time. The pump is very quiet, it's almost impossible to hear any sound from the pump when the fountain is running. My friend told me I can hook up a 12V car battery if I want it running at night time. In my case, when the sun goes down, I don't really need the fountain on. It works around 8 hrs during the day which is good enough for me. Now I don't have to worry about turning off my pump while I sleep or out of town. I can just leave it and forget about it since it runs off of free/green energy. It has been running for few days now and I donโt see any sign of failure. It should be a solid solution for those who wants to replace their old fountain or upgrade their old fountain to solar and save some electricity cost like me. Pros: Long power cable Quiet Come with fountain kit Detachable extension cable Iโm giving this pump a 5 star because it's a perfect for me, although I have to mention the plastic cover on the pump is not that great. But i don't care...

Amazing Brushless Submersible Water Pump - Highly Recommend
I have been using these pumps for about five years with 12 Volt solar power and they work well. I have one that has been in a pond pumping water over a small waterfall for four years without cleaning of any kind. I think they are amazing in their efficiency and gallons per hour flow for the very reasonable price we pay. I highly recommend this.

Small but so far so good...
So far so good as long as your not expecting or trying to do to much. I'm trying my first solar panel system, didn't want to burn another electric line, sometimes I'm no sure if I should have just done it but this has been interesting and fun. Ok, so I'm trying to power a "small" fountain, believe this 410 gph pump isn't going to do a whole lot, and I have to assume those #'s are based on the 24 volt side of things, my 30 watt panel barely is able to satisfy the job but it is and is just enough to push the water up the tubing I've attached to it. I have two lengths of tubing for two small trickle down features on a lovely fountain my grandfather made years ago, I hope I can up load a video of it. The two runs are aprx two and a half feet but it is barely making it into each just enough but God forbid a cloud comes over cause she'll quit in a heart beat and if it's not directly in the sun, you're got nothing, but that's no fault of the pump, just solar in general apparently. Sooo, I've ordered batteries now and a controller and also a timer since I don't want it running all the time, just during visible hours. So here's to trying and a little fun, we'll see and I hope to keep you posted, Ben.

Great When It Works!
Unfortunately, I have to use these pumps all the time. For this application, I had to have a 12v pump that was small in size and could handle the head pressure. This pump is great, when it works. Over the last 8 years, I've replaced this pump at least once every 5 to 7 months. The pump can be disassembled and cleaned, but I've never had one that work right after cleaning. I don't even bother cleaning them anymore. I've wasted so many hours trying to get them work once they begin the start and stop death march. The pump I just put in worked for 24 hours before I had to replace it. It's being sent back tomorrow. More wasted time. I just looked around again for another 12v pump, and sadly, this is still the only one that meets the constraints.

Take care of it and will last you years.
Lets begin, I purchased this product 4 yrs ago along with a 100w solar panel. The pump was working fine until I opened the pump where the impeller is and the ceramic shaft broke. I hadn't noticed right away after the cleaning until I came home after a sunny day and the water wasn't flowing. I pulled it out of the water to check for noise and the pump was hot! Meaning the amps from the solar panel were high enough to heat the plastic. Luckily I caught it in time to prevent damage. I tried to glue back the shaft but no luck. So I decided to purchase a new one because looking online there is no replacement shaft only cable extensions. This arrived fast without prime. Now my aquaponics system is back running on solar keeping lots of water flow. The fact this pump has a range of voltages worked perfect for this application. Don't go for small 20w solar panels. This pump has been working fine with a 100w solar panel without battery storage. Just DC. I'm satisfied with the pump overall and I recommend to place this pump in a filter box for ponds. That way you avoid the impeller being tangled in debris so you won't risk having to clean it and accidentally damaging the fragile shaft. Learned my lesson and hope this new pump will last me for many more years. Hope this can help anyone.

Lived well for 4 years before failure
Bought this almost 5 years ago and used it quite a bit for the last 2. Connected directly to 100 watt (old) solar panels it worked well except that it would make clicking noises when the light was at low angles. Plenty of pressure when full sun, but the variability between high and low sun results in about 5 times the flow, making it tricky to use directly with solar panels and not underwhelm or overwhelm the fountain. I got about 12 feet of head using 1/2 inch pipe at full solar (but it was MY panel, not the kit) One great thing is that the threaded connector is standard 1/2 inch male pipe thread [MPT] making it easier to use standard sprinkler fittings. When I used a 12v buck converter the constant voltage made it easier to fine tune the fountain. It's easy to disassemble and came with a "filter". The pump is a little noisy. The shaft of the impeller broke suddenly after almost 4 years, so I guess I got my money's worth. I wish I could replace the impeller shaft part and I would continue to use it.

Rapid response to order and delivery
It has been difficult to get a solar DC pump for my bird/Bee "bath", this fits the bill perfectly, birds appreciate fresh bath water, bee's appreciate the slow trickle, no splashes. Perfect for the job.

still working
I bought this a few years ago and after several harsh winters(i left it in the water during -40C weather) , it still runs great!
