It can only handle electrical strips and other small electrical components. A roku or apple devise might fit in, but it's unlikely a cable box would fit.

All sides are finished, and made of the same material.

Q: Will a standard (US) 2 prong plug fit through the slot in the back?

Yes. The slot is 1 1/8" (1.125 in) high.

Q: Is the bottom of the box finished?

No it’s not, but you could yourself. I will say it’s a beautiful box to hide a power surge unit. I love it.
