Sure is handy when you don't have your reading glasses and you want to read a label or one of the owners manuals with ultra fine print. I noticed one reviewer that did not understand that you don't simply lay the magnifier on the surface. You must hold it a couple inches over the print/object you want to enlarge. Varying the distance between the eye and the page to focus. For me it works with the magnifier about 2.5" to 3" above a page and my eye about 16" above the lens.It is also big enough to start a fire on a sunny day. Size of the lens is important. The bigger the better for fire starting. But a six inch lens wouldn't be pocket friendly like this nice little lens. Good product for the money.

Nice set of 10 handy wallet magnifiers for less than $12. I have given out several to friends, and keep 1 in my wallet, by my medicine cabinet, and in the car. Much more convenient and inconspicuous to use at restaurants, stores(ingredients/labels), prescriptions, or letters to read small fonts. Great for roadmaps, which I still use as a counter reference to GPS or when planning a road trip. Haven't tried starting a fire yet, but will once summer arrives.

On the wrong side of 40 with still strong vision but occasionally struggling to read really fine print (and so much packaging seems to have microscopic information these days), I decided to get a couple of Fresnel lenses that I could keep around the home and office and in my wallet. This seemed like a great deal for the price and so I got them.They do the job really well. Surprisingly effective and clear magnification considering the thinness. These are THIN, mind you, thinner than a credit card! I'm sure you can get other Fresnel lenses or standard magnifying glasses with stronger magnification but I can tuck one of these into my wallet and whip it out anywhere. The ruler functionality is a nice touch too.The only thing I did not like was all the pieces in my order were slightly dented in the same spot, which suggests a manufacturing defect (or, who knows, a careless packaging handler). Some of the pieces had more than one dent or scratch. But I'm talking really tiny dents here. If you wanted to, you could just ignore them and that's basically what I've decided to do. Still, I informed the seller and told them I was nevertheless satisfied with the product and didn't want to return it or claim a refund or anything. However, they were quite contrite and refunded my cost of their own volition, which leaves me with a very positive impression of the way they treat their customers. I analyse businesses for a living so I know how difficult it can be to manage a supply chain. Things happen. But great customer service makes it all go away!

I got this wallet stuffer to include into my EDC kit.Ruler does come printed on the card, as advertised, and may eventually rub off.The good news is that everything that's wrong with this card is corrected with the protective sleeve that comes with each card. The sleeve DOES fit into my wallet, so I'm happy I don't have to fiddle around with all sorts of things to take out the magnifier.So your question is: what's wrong with this card?The card is very susceptible to scratches and getting dirty. It's expected, it's relatively cheap plastic which is flexible at best, meaning the card will require effort to shatter. The lens is a Fresnel lens, which is somewhat like sandpaper in the sense that it'll pickup things it rubs against. This could include gunk from the wallet. This is why I suggest using the sleeve if possible, as it would extend the life of your card by a ridiculous amount of time.So what's good about the card?It's compact and it DOES magnify. I don't have a way to actually measure the advertised "x4" magnification compared to competitors who only offer "x3" magnification for a similar product, however I can say that I can hold the card a fair distance away from the object I am looking at or reading off of before focus starts to get lost.I recommend this product. I guess in an emergency, the card can also be used to start fires. I don't think I'll use it for this purpose, but I don't rule it out.

They are great, I keep one in my wallet so when I forget my glasses I can the small print on menus.

First off, I stumbled on this product by searching for others, so it was an impulse buy. Second, I love this kind of stuff, so I was going to keep it even if was so-so. That being said, I really like this product, and I rarely give five stars. The cards are thinner than a credit card [and more flexible], printed on both sides with one or two knots per side. I wish I had to knot more things in my life so that I could use this more often. Good idea, good execution, reasonable price [or, better put, a bit overpriced for what it is, but if it lasts 10 years, it's perfectly priced]

My main reason for purchasing this product was for the magnifier. I am a bit disappointed as it does not work as well as other wallet magnifiers I have used (and lost). It is winter and I have not had a chance to try starting a fire. It seems that when we do have a sunny day I am busy with other things. I will definitely be trying it out to see how well it works in cold winter weather. The ruler is nice. I have not needed to use it yet, but I do anticipate it will receive a fair amount of use.This review will be updated when I have a chance to try out the firestarter.

Just the right size to carry in my wallet or EDC. Magnification is at the expected level for this size, pri e and material.
